We need Fozz to take a pit stop so he can make a flurry of posts.

Just over an hour until the opening tip-off for the tournament. :D :D

Is it just me or does the guy in the Lufthansa ad look a little too pleased?

I picked a few upsets. I'm sure upsets will happen; just not the ones I picked.

Are you asking the city, the airport? The lounges?

The City. I'd overnight (not a straight turn) since I can. The one significant downside I see is that I wouldn't get to spend any notable time in the Koru in SYD with that routing. But I'm looking for other reasons to pick one over the other. Likely lack of consulate for passport services in MEL is also a negative, but I am somewhat swayed by the more is more mentality and wanting the extra line, dot and miles.

If the box is this quiet, I can maybe go get everything done and be back by the time it hits 40k:rolleyes:

I wasn't expecting it until later this afternoon anyways. Though now that we are < 80 posts to get there I have no idea.

SYD is a better city imho. More to see and it's prettier! I found the food a bit better in SYD than MEL as well. Both have excellent, easy and inexpensive public transportation. MEL has some good things to see but I like the stuff around MEL more than I do in MEL. There is a repeat of things in MEL and SYD (with SYD having those things a bit better). In SYD, you could easily do a quick tour of the Rocks, walk around the harbour, do a quick harbour ferry, walk around the opera house, go through the botanical gardens, hit the Nat'l museum to see some great Aboriginal art and then go to the prison museum (lots of other options, I was thinking of some highlights).

That sounds almost exactly like what I did for my last 24 hours in SYD trip coming home from the UA AKL deal. Not sure if it is worth repeating or trying something new.

If you've never been to Australia it is a crime to only visit for a day. (yes, SYD is better)
