I still buy from them, but back then Google offered $20 off every order over $50 if you used Google Checkout. So, every item I ordered that was over $50 became its own individual order. Lower cost items were grouped together to just hit $50. I ended up placing over 70 individual orders.

Did you link through a mileage mall / Upromise as well? I seem to recall that the Google checkout / Buy.com was a code to enter at time of payment.

Plus1 watches Lost? That's another phenomena that truly does not deserve its place in the cultural landscape. I stand by my assertion that there is a Starbucks on the f-ing island. They, or the others, or the time machine people, or Dharma & Greg, or whoever, just haven't found it yet. (No, I don't watch. The Mom does. She has repeatedly said that it has become a chore at this point because it's become so stupid and she can't bail without knowing what happens.)
Regarding the competing posts, I had this vision of each of you going to their own computer after dinner...and when one posted something to get a reaction from the other, you would hear the  thru the walls. Wed is the only night I can expect him home at a decent time. It's the only show he really cares about. There are times we post side by side on the sofa ; which is a change from me posting while he did other things on his laptop. |

I've resolved to spend all vouchers I receive this year from the airport, before I even board the alternate flight. Will help pass the time.

xyzzy and buy.com. I remember hilarious scenes back in December 2006 :D And I remember my parents looking rather irritated seeing all those boxes being delivered to the house every single day for weeks ;)
So now you made friends with buy.com again? :p

My Tivo went  and re-set this past week, apparently erasing the season-pass for LOST. Have to wait until tonight to watch last night's episode online.

Mad Max Dangerous. If you want to see the Casco Viejo, and don't have a rental car, have a cab take you to the Cathedral and wait for you while you walk around and snap photos. The main parts of the Casco Viejo (Cathedral and surrounding areas) have plenty of Panamanian Police with submachineguns to keep an eye on things. To get to that area, you have to cross through an area along the waterfront that is a bit hairy (at least I did, but perhaps cabbies know a different route into there that isn't as crazy as the waterfront route). Collapsed buildings blocking part of the road, people walking around huffing glue from plastic bags with machetes strapped to their side, prostitutes actively touting construction workers in broad daylight... that sort of thing.
There's a reason many of the photos of the Casco Viejo that one sees on Wikipedia and elsewhere were snapped from Amador or the Multicentro... using telephoto lenses. :D |

I linked through the Continental web site this time. I didn't do that in 2006.

I'm really tempted by the UA SYD fare. I can always use more BD miles, but the lack of the HNL routing makes it seem less worthwhile. But for $500 a/i (and I can actually make use of the LA flight later in the year ) it is hard to say no.

After leaving PTY, I stopped in LAS on the way home from BNA. |
