Not if you keep multi-quoting.

I can make up for that in frequency. I promise.

Anyone have any thoughts on PTY hotels? I'm torn between the Courtyard or the JW Marriott. I'm likely going to cash in points for the PTY run next weekend and the Courtyard is 60k and the JW is 75k.

Thoughts?

Do you know if :rolleyes:v is still going or is it just you and me now?

With FedEX's latest earning reports, I'd suspect they are shipping everything overnight just to fill the planes and trucks for operation economics.

That creates a pipeline problem (there's nothing left but new priority items to ship) but it's a corollary of the companies that force sales into the prior quarter, then come short(er) the current quarter.

I ordered some computer hardware yesterday (4 OnePass miles/$ from buy.com seemed like a good thing). The order included five computer cases. five motherboards, and one hard drive. This morning I see that those items have shipped. The cases show a total of 30 tracking numbers. The motherboards, six, and the hard drive shows six -- with each weighing 15 pounds. Some of them are the same tracking numbers for different items, but there are still far too many individual tracking numbers on the list. It will be interesting to see what Mr. FedEx drops off this morning, as all of it is on the truck for delivery. Not bad for choosing 5-7 day shipping.

xyzzy and buy.com. I remember hilarious scenes back in December 2006 :D And I remember my parents looking rather irritated seeing all those boxes being delivered to the house every single day for weeks ;)

So now you made friends with buy.com again? :p

I thought :rolleyes:v had to  and IIRC he was  about it. If he is in town, it'd be nice if he joined us for ribs.

I don't recall seeing either of those hotels when I was down there. IIRC, the most centrally located hotel with the best views of the bay was the InterContinental (but there's lots of construction going on around there now).

Be sure to hit up Amador Causeway and have lunch at the hole-in-the-wall diner by the Yacht Club. The Pollo Criolla is outstanding. Under no circumstances should you attempt to walk to the Casco Viejo from the Multicentro.

I still buy from them, but back then Google offered $20 off every order over $50 if you used Google Checkout. So, every item I ordered that was over $50 became its own individual order. Lower cost items were grouped together to just hit $50. I ended up placing over 70 individual orders.

That's impressive. ^^ We had a similar scheme with an Office Depot in NYC one day, but it was $15 off $15. Eventually the cashiers got sick of dealing with us so just rang everything up at once. That was nice.

Dangerous or long walk?

Mad Max Dangerous. If you want to see the Casco Viejo, and don't have a rental car, have a cab take you to the Cathedral and wait for you while you walk around and snap photos. The main parts of the Casco Viejo (Cathedral and surrounding areas) have plenty of Panamanian Police with submachineguns to keep an eye on things. To get to that area, you have to cross through an area along the waterfront that is a bit hairy (at least I did, but perhaps cabbies know a different route into there that isn't as crazy as the waterfront route). Collapsed buildings blocking part of the road, people walking around huffing glue from plastic bags with machetes strapped to their side, prostitutes actively touting construction workers in broad daylight... that sort of thing.

There's a reason many of the photos of the Casco Viejo that one sees on Wikipedia and elsewhere were snapped from Amador or the Multicentro... using telephoto lenses. :D

It started off that way because he was watching Lost and I don't and keep BL JR busy during Lost.
