CO Forum seems to have lots of stickies at the moment.

Commenting on moderator behavior is a TOS violation and grounds for suspension. :p

Does AA make Status last earned year +1 if you do a challenge after a certain cut-off date (July something with CO, IIRC)? If so, and if the DEQM promo lasts beyond that date, you could snag Plat for $550 for 1.5 years, and get a vacation to CUN, to boot.

Yes, I believe they do. I had one of my partners do an AA match on his way to HKG early in 2008 and it was held over.

Well stated, my brother in arms. How many days in the hole for him?

I'd say about an hour of timeout, particularly since I was thinking the same thing he was.

Let's pick an hour that he would otherwise spend curled up under his desk trying to sneak a nap so he doesn't suffer too much.

MSY-LAS nonstop. That has got to be one of the most  domestic routes out there. Connecting two centers of sin and debauchery. :D

I think it's more an LAS issue than WN. Two weeks ago: Besides me having to witness a woman let go of a nice wad of chew spit into the garbage can at the gate, my seat opponent somehow managed to shake the entire row of seats with every breath. Thank god for the empty middle and the fact that it was a red eye and she fell asleep during taxi. When we arrived, she sat just there, trapping me. "Do you plan on leaving?" I asked. She turned around, somehow surprised that half the plane was in the aisle waiting for her(still shoes off.) "Oh, you can go." Wonderful. She sat there as I crawled over her.

I agree that CO matching the dEQM is not a good decision over the long term for the benefit of the program or their customers who actually spend money and can fly. If everyone is special then no one is special.

That being said, I'm sure that I'd find a way to take advantage of such a promotion to boost my lifetime EQMs and accelerate my drive towards Platinum this year. It would make the ~$180 PHL-west coast runs absolutely ridiculous in terms of value (~1.4cpEQM/RDM with a gold/plat bonus).

Selfishly, I agree with you. I am very nervous about even reaching Gold this year and would love this bump, but in the big picture it just diminishes the program that much more.

Me too.

We've been thanking CO for the DO for quite a while now... :D

D'oh! I plead sleep deprivation as an affirmative defense. I'm not ready to add Pandyland International to my FlightMemory. I've spent enough time on Planes this weekend.

I had not noticed that XYZZY had added another post up there, so I removed the thank you sticky.

In many ways it is indeed a LAS issue, yet do not forget than WN has the Kettles programmed to think they are always cheapest. Always.

Attn Box:

The UA board is about to experience a warp-core breach due to AA's DEQM promo...have your popcorn ready...

MBM3 Mar 17, 2009 8:46 am

Then again, I paid more to fly WN this week as I did not want to bother with US Scareways.

Gotta give props to sfogate. I'm not sure I could be so calm, professional, and pleasant if working at 12:35am.
