I lost my *Wood status and Hyatt is going insane on pricing.....looking at going to the King Tut exhibit in Dallas or ATL and Hyatt's limited choice strikes again, looks like I may stay at a marriott.

Of all my wallet candy, I think I would be saddest to lose SPG Plat. By purchasing Q-UPs to earn high-mileage quickly and on the cheap, I could make do without airline status, as I would still be riding around in F to earn the necessary miles (and could still redeem for premium cabins). The hotel status just seems more valuable overall.

As for the Westin TS club rooms....they are actually my least favorite room type at the hotel. They are on lower floors (15 and below) so expect no view and noise. There is, however, an iMAC in your room with free internet access. The club lounge isn't all that nice. For snacks, they have the typical Westin spread...grilled veggies, dips, chips, pita bread, etc. Soft drinks, however, are complimentary. I'd personally just book a corner room and enjoy the view and save the club $ for better places in the city. Besides, I think the limit for club access is only 2 per room. They might not check, but you do have to check in with a clerk (sign) when you enter the lounge.

Thanks for the info. My dates show the FP Chelsea at $205(which I don't think is too bad) but they seem to have a 2 person limit on the rooms. I don't want to risk them calling me on that. I'm using C&P at the Westin and I don't have status, so unfortunately, I don't think a corner room is in the cards for me. I still have time so I'll poke around more.

Where's that golf cart when you need it?

Funny you should mention that. i was returning from SEa for the final time last night on my way to TUL and was talking to one of the PC Red Coats. She was using a golf cart to get newspapers for the E PC. She was nice enough to give me a ride to my gate which was on her way. Now that is service! :)

Buenos

I have discovered the secret to reviving after a red-eye midcon. Breakfast Tacos with extra chorizo.

That will only last about 4 hours, then the bottom will drop out!!!!

I have determined that I visit the PCs at IAH too much. When you walk in and half the agents know you by name or face and ask where you have been you travel too much. This hopefully will pay off in the future as well as I run into potential issues with travel headaches. They also said HI to my parents when we came in the other night.

I will say that the showers in the IAH PCs and the NWA WC made the turn in NRT much nicer. Kinda funny when I look back on the weekend and realixe that I showered in more airport clubs than regular hotel or home showers!

Sitting in the Panera in Stillwater waiting to go back home. They are showing my house this morning so had to get up and out by 9:30 am.

I have come to realize this as well, but my point whoring is of the HH flavor. Getting there in style is nice, don't get me wrong, but staying there on points and not paying a hotel bill could in some cases justify a higher fare where bonus miles come naturally. The hotel status game is much harder to play of course, given the stays and hotel hopping, etc., but it yields much more in terms of making vacations more enjoyable and affordable.

FM Porn.

Apparently it's just a RouteMemory, and doesn't include repeat flights. Found it by clicking on SkyTeam777's signature link. Quite the FM. ^

Getting 700 posts in a day would be pretty impressive, even for this thread/crowd.

I was going to try to not go out at all today so as to avoid the crazies on the street. Alas, I am hungry and we have nothing good to eat in the house. At least I'm far enough away from the parade area that I'll just have local drunks, not those who traveled for the fun.

I've been drinking Guinness since 7 am.

My head hurts.

I'm fairly certain I cleared 700 in a day on the Post Whore thread. I wouldn't be surprised if colpuck cracked 1,000. IIRC, he had about a 12-hour stretch of uninterrupted posting, cranking out one every 30 seconds. ^

But nothing in Oz. And it is basically just a blue blob that is mostly illegible; that's the way FM rolls.

I agree that they need to sort out the zoomability for guests visiting a Premium Member's FM Page. If I can zoom it when I'm logged in, my guests should be able to, as well. Also, they should increase the levels of zoom available. Some of my close-together airports in Mexico and the Caribbean experience a bit of overlap, even when zoomed in.
