And speaking of *W, any comments on the value of a $40 upgrade to Executive Club room at Westin Times Square so I can get lounge access for 3 of us for snacks and breakfast?

Yep. It's half off rack. So, it's really only a good deal for properties that usually only offer high BARs to start with. The sale should produce good values at the same properties that are good SPG50 values (Sheraton Old San Juan, Westin St. John, PVR & SJD properties, Several Euro Properties, etc.).

You would think you would need something more along the lines of a backhoe for one of those steamers!

Good. We made it to poop references before noon today. This is progress. :D

It also produced some good rates at several NYC properties. Unfortunately, I still can't decide which one I want to try.

Apparently the W Times Square is newly renovated and has been getting quite a few ^ lately. I've also heard good things about W Union Square, but dunno if the newly renovated Times Square property is better.

ETA - W Hoboken opens at the end of April. :rolleyes:v and I walked past it on Saturday, and it looks like it will have stunning views of Manhattan.

There are some VERY good rates if you look carefully, particularly NYC. I mean, $140 for FP Chelsea? WOW! As for the Westin TS club rooms....they are actually my least favorite room type at the hotel. They are on lower floors (15 and below) so expect no view and noise. There is, however, an iMAC in your room with free internet access. The club lounge isn't all that nice. For snacks, they have the typical Westin spread...grilled veggies, dips, chips, pita bread, etc. Soft drinks, however, are complimentary. I'd personally just book a corner room and enjoy the view and save the club $ for better places in the city. Besides, I think the limit for club access is only 2 per room. They might not check, but you do have to check in with a clerk (sign) when you enter the lounge.

I don't think it's half rack. It's half....something else. They are offering $95 per night at the Westin Bonaventure in LA. There's no way the rack rate for that property is only $190. There are some VERY good rates if you look for it.

W Times Square is the best property even before renovation (at least IMO). So, after the renovation, it will still be the best property in the city. Also, they have the BEST room service food, ever.

I considered staying there for my trip to the city next month. But then I thought, would I rather have a view or be IN the view? :p

Gotta give props to sfogate. I'm not sure I could be so calm, professional, and pleasant if working at 12:35am.

Thank you.

They do the same thing in ACY. Off the train, down the Black Horse Pike and onto the AC Expressway () and then up Pacific Ave. to Boardwalk Hall.

We had street sweepers and people, along with bike cops in AC.

Gimme a few minutes and there will be pics of the poopin' machines themselves...I stepped off my desk last year when I knew the elephants would be passing my then-hotel.

These are the 3 I am currently debating. I'm not a big TS fan, but it does look like a very nice W. Under $300 for a corner room on a Saturday night is not bad either.

I have several resumes in at that property...glad to know I can better info on my employment situation from FT than I can direct from *Wood themselves.

In Houston, we get Circo H. Vazquez. They set up in a dedicated parking-lot along the I-45N Corridor.

Btw, its not really in the smack of TS. Westin in. W is sort of to the side, which is a great thing. I NEVER set foot on Broadway nor do I get off at 42nd subway station. ALWAYS stay on 8th ave and get off 47th St subway station. Trust me, you will not feel like you are in TS if you take my advice and it will be very enjoyable. Go for the W.

I never looked at a map, so I did not realize this. If I can have the TS views without the TS crowd, I'm sold. Thanks!

Is there a real benefit to the corner rooms at this property? Or, have you have just been upgraded to a suite every time? :p
