Elephant Under Tropicana's Street Arch

Walking Northbound

I promised elephant pics, but I had to get some photo work done for my mother first.

FM guests should also be able to use the year filter.

I agree that they need to sort out the zoomability for guests visiting a Premium Member's FM Page. If I can zoom it when I'm logged in, my guests should be able to, as well. Also, they should increase the levels of zoom available. Some of my close-together airports in Mexico and the Caribbean experience a bit of overlap, even when zoomed in.

I have yet to update my FM for this year's flights.

Thanks for reminding me to input last night's SFO-IAH. I think I will opt for the Wall Map at 1M mi. intervals.

I just got that email as well, and already have two qualifying 2-day rentals booked during the promo period. Time to find another weekend to rent a car to get another free. ^

You could just switch to OpenFlights. They support those things. ;) :p

If OpenFlights had the same WorldMap as FM, with smaller dots for airports, I would consider it. [/OCD]

Yeah...the basic map view isn't great, but the zoomability feature makes up for that, IMO. So does access to details/filters.

I never looked at a map, so I did not realize this. If I can have the TS views without the TS crowd, I'm sold. Thanks!

Is there a real benefit to the corner rooms at this property? Or, have you have just been upgraded to a suite every time? :p

That's exactly why I love the hotel. View of TS but you don't have to deal with Times Square crowd. Just remember to use alternate subway stations and stay on 8th ave. You will be golden. I do get upgraded to suites :p but, I have stayed in the "fabulous room" before. It's just a standard room but with a corner location and 2 walls of window. The view is amazing if you can get a higher floor. On one side, you have a view of Times Square, on the other, you have a view of the Hudson river and beyond. It's pretty cool. And remember, if you like seafood, be sure to order room service. It's delicious ^

Of all my wallet candy, I think I would be saddest to lose SPG Plat. By purchasing Q-UPs to earn high-mileage quickly and on the cheap, I could make do without airline status, as I would still be riding around in F to earn the necessary miles (and could still redeem for premium cabins). The hotel status just seems more valuable overall.

SPG is one of the best programs out there. I wouldn't worry though because I am pretty sure they will offer double stay again this year.

Granted I booked a month and a half ago, but I have one of the ATL Hyatt Places at $71 a night next weekend; saw a rate of $62 if one has a car. With rates like that, I might stay an extra night for another stay, G1/G2, and the 6,000 point bonus in the 20,000 point promotion - think I'm going to get stuck at 5 nights otherwise ...
