I am getting about 5,000 HH points out of the deal, and I'm considering hitting up lensrentals.com for the Canon 100-400L since I'm going to spend part of one of the days doing some spotting. My walking around money has also been taken care of. No complaints whatsoever...yeah, 50% sucks, but in comparison to everything else, I'll take it.

But would you give TTDs (Trinidad) in the US? Or anywhere else? The two examples you describe are a fair exchange, I think, but there are certainly cases where it wouldn't work.

Yeah...it is time to stop that whining. You're getting a free trip. The miles just don't matter. :p

You'll get a job soon and deal with the elite thing in its own time.

And apparently my post about Duke was enough to piss the UT team off. They've staged quite a run just now to bring it within one.

I don't think TTD's would meet the "easily exchanged / used" criterion.

I didn't know the Volunteers were playing Duke today. ;)

I'm personally hoping that I nail Monday's interview over either of the other two - it'll put me much closer to EWR/NYC, I'll hopefully be making money commensurate with the location, and my fiancee can then shift her search to NYC...and given that she's in fashion, that's quite nice for both of us.

And re: the elite thing, if I get one of these jobs this week, I might take advantage of some DEQM flying. I need 12K for the year for Silver 2010, which should be a joke to get w/r/t outlay of money and time given the right fares and flights. 12K will end the year at Silver for me, and 14K will make me EUA-eligible for my Christmas bookings.

No.

I typically have extra currency wherever I am and use the extra up at the airport if necessary (the exception being euros, pounds, HK$ and RMB, which I just keep to use the next time), but I've run really close before and a couple of times ran out when I did what I described.

:D

The Goose and Ketel bottles were sealed, and I won't slum it with Absolut unless it's flavored. I also left my bottle of Tito's at a friend's house on NYE. Belvedere was the logical choice given the state of the liquor cabinet.

US$ aren't included in the listing of extra currency to bring home? ;)

LOL! Of course ;)

I keep a separate wallet for foreign and when I go to China; one compartment for HK$ and one for RMB. Oh, I forgot Vietnamese Dong, which I still have a wad of but is worth maybe $80 US.

I had a Camaro with Torx screws years ago. That car was crappy by early 1980s car standards.

I don't have a single bottle of vodka in my cabinets. Tito's seems of some interest, though.
