With UA you need to have status in order to get a seat more than two rows from the lav door.

I would give away my UA status (through Feb 2010) if I could.

Can one of you experts confirm for me - with SkyTeam Elite Plus (CO Platinum) - we should have access to the AirFrance or Alitalia Lounges at MXP, right?

CO.com says so, but I thought I'd ask someone who has tried that before.

Thanks!

I was just there. They would ONLY give me a lounge pass (to a VERY crappy lounge near the CO gate) when I showed them my PC card. The agent told me that only PC members and BF pax get access, so I whipped out my PC card and was promptly given a pass. I did not ask about the other two lounges. I have no idea where they are, but I believe they are in a different area, and not accessible from inside the pier area that CO uses.

My question is, if I get in at noon would I have enough time to get a rental car and make it to the last tour that starts at 3pm? Also, I am assuming rental car is my only option from getting to SEA to the tour center?

It will take you a minimum of 45 minutes to drive from SEA to the Boeing facility in Everett. If your flight is on time you should be fine.

If it must be bag tea then there is only one for me -- PG Tips :p

Yes and yes.

And CM may be right about public transit, but not to arrive there within 3 hours of getting to the airport. I wouldn't risk that. I bid $14 on PL and paid ~$28 total for the car. It was worth it.

I kinda voted yes too. With only a half-day, PL a car, run up, come back, get back on the plane. There is public transit service, but it would take too long and IIRC it does not go into the Future of Flight parking lot. When we were leaving that lot, a city bus turned onto Paine Field Blvd. opposite us. I did research the possibility of using public transit to get to Boeing, but it was IIRC one daily run and no dedicated stop.

I was just at the Boeing factory last January and I already want to go back. I'm thinking of waiting until the firm date of the 787 first flight is announced so I can go see that and do the factory tour again.

I think I was on my way to Tokyo that time. I'll find my way out to ribs with y'all eventually.

The version I had of those directions was slightly different - just enough to confuse the heck out of me at the end while on WA-525.

Agreed, though it will certainly be a zoo there that day. And I am not entirely sure I believe any "firm" dates that Boeing is putting out.

It appears you haven't bought tea in awhile in the Uk. The price has  in the past year.

It will be a zoo, but I'm willing to brave the crowds to see the 787 take to the skies! ^

I'm sure it will end up having to be a bit of a last minute trip because the "firm" first flight date will probably change multiple times. ;)

Thanks for the advice on the Boeing trip. Ill likely book tomorrow for May 2. Get in at noon and leave at midnight. I assume that leaves plenty of time for dinner downtown. As for the priceline, I will still be under 25 so Ill get killed with the fees (unless someone knows a trick). I usually just use a National code to avoid the underage fee but will only have to do that for another few months.

The Box really should consider a Dayton Do. The USAF Museum is really a fun trip, especially if you add in the trip out to Huffman Prairie and the Wright Bros. bike shop. If you haven't been, the museum is worth a trip now, but it'll really be worth the trip when the Restoration Division polishes off the work on the Memphis Belle. There aren't any high-end hotels or spectacular food choices, but going to Outback more than makes up for the ridiculously large doses of military Aeroporn in addition to the Wright Flyer simulator (!!!!!!) that one can pilot...even if military aviation isn't entirely your thing, it's awesome to go to the Wright exhibits and see how it all began.

There are tour companies that will bus you in both directions but I think that they start at 12 noon towards the plant.
