Does CO really want 100 seat props? Or 100 seat planes at all? I'm not convinced that they really do.

There is a good argument for equipment in the 100 seat range to replace 735s.
Boeing no longer has a 100 seat plane on the market, so they're out. If it were just a matter of upping the capacity on short hops (<400 miles) where the Qs are already in place that would be one thing. But the 735s fly much, much, much longer routes. AUS/DFW-EWR, anyone? There is no way that CO is going to try to operate a turboprop on routes like that. So they either have to up-gauge to ~150 seats or buy a 100 seat jet. The latter means mainline operations based on the scope clause, and I cannot see that as being something that the pilots will be at all flexible on. |

The E90 seatmap for US on the Guru doesn't look too bad at all. It's still 31" in Y, but the seats being a full inch-plus wider than CO's (assuming that that stays status quo) does make 31" hurt a little less.

Look like I will have to fly to LHR now to redeem for J on the EK 380.

I think Bombardier is trying to merge their prop plane and aircraft divisons by making real 'air trains' If they could just find a way to link together 4 Qtrains with one master puller propjob they'd be in business :D
That being said, I think there would be a market for a prop plane that is wider than the Q400 giving a bit of a widebody feel to it. With a 100 seat prop plane there would be a good market for intra Texas, Intra CA, and NE flying markets to more point to point style. But I don't think it fits the CO mold that well, WN would probably jump all over it however. |

Or try to get on YYZ to DXB, though I do know it is a pain for you to get up there.

What are the nicest US clubs in CLT and PHL?

2 out of 3. WN would never touch the NE corridor business flying market - it would drag down their entire system's on-time numbers.

I agree. And I think that the E90 is the perfect plane in that niche.

I've not done the E90 yet so I don't know that it is the case with US, but it is worth keeping in mind. |
