Do Turboprops fall outside the purview of the Scope Clause in the Pilots' contracts?

It's the method of power combined with the seat count: the only rule I know of is that a jet over 50 seats must be mainline...Q4 is what, 74-76 seats? In a related item, CO is looking to refurbish old USAF C-130's.

Morning, Box. I just got invited to a cocktail reception at the residence of Ireland's consul general.

My weird stories are starting to match those of other Boxers....Irish consul, freak AMS trip, character in a children's book. I'm still waiting for a story to happen to me that rivals sbm12's Secret Service story.

Getting fancy with the cocktail reception now are we?;) I had to settle for tea and scones with the Lord Mayor of Liverpool on Monday.

The scope clause says that mainline must operate any just larger than 50 seats. I do not think that there is a clause re props or general total max capacity, but I could be wrong.

Well, before I arrived at the property, I looked at my reservation to see if I had been upgraded. Lo and behold, I was upgraded, but only to a fabulous room. So what's wrong? There was a comment in my reservation that I was able to read:

"...NO SUITES PER XXXXX"

 So, that left a bad taste in my mouth even before the stay. The stay was alright and they did send me a gift but the service there was mediocre at best.

Afterwards, thanks to Starwoork Lurker/II, the hotel contacted me and apologized profusely. They claimed that the note in my account was cut off on my end because the note was supposed to read:
"U/G FAB ROOM, NO SUITES AVAILABLE, PER XXXXX [manager]"

They tried to make things right in the end by compensating me heftily, which was appreciated, but still, a big

Haha. That's actually really hilarious.

Starwood has had some legendary foul-ups with me but, to their credit, they excel at making things right with their customers. My problem is I'm usually not vocal enough so I just wallow in my own crapulence.

I'd rather stay at a property and have nothing go wrong than play the hit or miss game and get an upgrade or points after the fact. I know... I'm so un-Flyer Talk.

I agree, I just want things to go smooth.

There is some sort of language regarding props, which is why they can use the Q4. The language regarding seats applies to jet aircraft.

I do wonder what will happen in the next round of negotiations for the contract. I am sure CO would love to increase the seat count, though what would they need to give up to get it?

Does CO really want 100 seat props? Or 100 seat planes at all? I'm not convinced that they really do.

Probably something very, very expensive having to do with benefits.
