One of the best FA's I have encountered in quite some time. Very professional, thorough, and attentive. Not particularly cheery though. Called us all by name for the duration of the flight. I thought ssullivan and I landed upgrades onto an LH flight.

It is hard being a pimp these days, especially when PSU decided he didn't like making money.

Ouch. Sometimes the physical stuff is better than the verbal crap that comes later. Next year you get to deal with the PTA Mommies for the next 6 years. Then BL JR will hit the 7th grade when the queen bees start their cliches. Lots of drama coming your way.

Tis a day of good impressions. First, my blushing bride and I went to a mobile bridal show in this area this weekend, and the turnout was less than expected and I left a good impression on a vendor, who in turn made sure I won a drawing for a $500 catering gift cert. Secondly, I hadn't turned my BB on all day, nor checked my email recently...the nameless company that mistakenly advertised full-time and meant part-time offered me the part-time spot. Both of these are Boxclusives...fiancee does not yet know about the caterer, and neither fiancee nor mother know of the offer.

Requested by my former client - can't beat it when they call and ask you to come and have a drink with them... in London. Great prices from CLE also - $358 + taxes isn't bad at all for a direct. Now all I need to do is get permission at home to go... :) |

Other good news, they have Business Traveler magazine at IAH PC ^. Hope that continues and will also be offered at LAX PC.

I flew back to IAH Saturday with the same crew, and she was a little more cheerful then, despite the 3+ hour weather delay. I've flown with her before, and she's always outstanding in the F cabin. She's a long-term CO FA, from the old DEN hub days, and still lives in Colorado.
FAA was onboard from IAH to FLL :D That safety demo was picture perfect they actually put ON the masks fully, darn near hooked up the oxygen, then put the lifevest on fully too. |

Then again, ATL still doesn't have all of the snacks that the other PCs have had for a few years now (like the Rondele). |

IAH only has the orange juice out; I still find you have to go to the bar for other flavors.
Term A PC has a nice dispenser for Orange Juice with ice in the center so it doesn't water down, I think E does as well, these today were just pitchers with a twist off top, transparent so you could see what you are getting. Yesterday at IAH E it was hot on the top floor. CO tends to keep all the PCs too warm, in my opinion. And ATL in the afternoon? You'll bake in that place, thanks to the west facing windows and the general lack of effective air conditioning that exists throughout the entire ATL terminal complex. Then again, ATL still doesn't have all of the snacks that the other PCs have had for a few years now (like the Rondele). |

FLL has the babybel still as well, they are a different packaging in 09 tha in 08 but still good :)
I wish CO would do something about the consistency of the snacks in the PCs. Granted, the chips and crackers and cheese and apples are always there most of the day, but they keep announcing new products and then only making them available about 5% of the time. What's the deal? |
A lot has to do with what time of day you are at the club. Different things are out at different times. I have heard from agents at several clubs (most recently DEN) that CO is trying to standardize as much as possible. I'd bet that if you had simply asked for Walkers at the ATL club that you would have found that they had them.

This is good. This is very good. At least you can ride out a part of the recession with something to put a few coins in the pocket. ^ That is "at least." "At best" would be that this is a career in an area where you would like to stay so if it is, do not book any more travel (and I know it is difficult) during the period they tell you that you will be working there. When we hire someone, one of the most important factors is their availability, so for the moment, be there, no sick days, no late arrivals or early departures, and make someone there reluctant to lose you when the currently planned time to let you go has arrived. He will figure (if you are good at the job and we know that you will be) that you are the guy on whom he can depend. Just two cents from one who has been there on both sides. :) |
