Good point. I don't strucuture trips down to the minute, but I do find it very hard to downshift and relax.

CM, I agree with you that I hate doing things I can do at home while I'm on vacation, but I run myself so ragged during my "real" life, sometimes just napping on a beach is bliss.

When we do our usual 2 week bonanza in August I usually do 4 days site-seeing/cultural then 4 days beach then 4 days site-seeing. It's a nice way to package up a long vacation.

Been there and done that with the beach. Two cruises ago, I sat on the balcony after golfing in STT and felt so relaxed...it was heavenly, to put it mildly. I called my fiancee to say hi and she even said that it was the most relaxed I'd sounded in the time we were together.

Yep, as does mine. Honestly, other than crappy meals in Y (which I expected), my last UA trip was really quite pleasant from start to finish. Great crews, relatively comfortable E+ seats (it is Y after all, so great comfort is not to be expected), on time flights, and decent IFE. Don't get me wrong — I've had horrible UA experiences since 2007. But they are improving overall, and I generally have more good flights with UA than bad. I'm actually looking forward to them being a CO partner.

2 of them followed our ERJ out to the runway on Monday evening - that was very cool!

Best ever moment for me was driving a load of missiles down a taxiway at ACY and having to pull to the shoulder so 2 -16's could pass me head-on on their way back to the ramp.

You were in ABQ?

If you're not delayed by military exercises in the afternoon you're delayed by wayward hot air balloons in the morning. This city is so bizarre.

Don't forget oil. There's a ton of oil business traffic on IAH-DEN flights. Many Houston-based oil companies have large operations all over Colorado, Wyoming, and other nearby states that DEN provides the best connections too. And CO carries a lot of that traffic.

I actually have not called them since about early March. Our flights are in pretty good shape - right now we're just on 2 different ICN-LAX flights that leave within 4 hours of one another.

The only other options I see on KVS right now are 2 seats on BKK-NRT(NW)-ATL(DL)-EWR(DL) but the BKK-NRT flight leaves at 5am. I still have hopes that KE will come through with another reward seat on one of our ICN-LAX flights!

Congrats! I hope it sticks.

I was just thinking the same thing. $695 is a nice price and a chunk of EQM/RDMs.

I was there this past Saturday-Monday for a random trip of wandering Route 66 and Santa Fe. When did you get there? I must have just missed you...

Tempting... ;)

It would also force us to go back to Asia within the next year to use the return of our reward...

And there is nothing wrong with that. Gives you more time to find better seats and you can use your BD miles and a one-way reward to get there. :)

That's what the old US said before their hubs became "focus cities" and then "cities served".

ConciergeMike is probably beginning to think "French" and "US" are synonymous (or both sufficiently ) in my lexicon ;)

Thanks! It has stuck for a few months now, so I'm feeling good about what we have. I had to ask Scott and his team to step in and help out last time segments disappeared and moved to random dates.

I'll try and get there and let you know if it reminds me of back h:rolleyes:me

Oh yeah, and there was the time that I turned the corner into the F-15E pen at al-Udeid in Qatar and got to see the Strike Eagle in person at ground level for the first time. I did flightline munitions delivery (known in the trade as Line-D) for several of my ~7 years on the job, so I got to see fighters close up a lot. One of the perks I miss the most is sitting on the miltary side of the ACY ramp and watching the sun come up over the commercial terminal. With the right cloud pattern the rising sun lit our F-16's just right. Gorgeous...it feels something akin to the scene where Forrest Gump is out in the middle of the Gulf in dead silence.
