The food and beaches are stunning. IMO, only Aruba has better beaches. Grenada, Barbados, and Grand Cayman are close, but SXM and AUA are tops, I think. Best uncrowded beaches in the Caribbean have got to be in PUJ, IMO. There were a few Germans and French skulking about when I was there, but the beaches were essentially vacant.

I hope I'm not climbing the walls after 5 days in Khao Lak. Haven't done an extended beach vacation like that in several years.

From what I have seen/read, Khao Lak is certainly remote with limited day trip options unless you dive or head back to HKT. I'm actually really looking forward to the 5 days of relaxation!

Just be careful of hurricane season...

Hopefully June is early enough to avoid all that.

+1 but a nice beach getaway would be good too.

I hate being sick. Though, I will say, I slept like a log for a good 12 hours last night.

Feel better super soon. We need our wizard in top shape.

Channeling US again?

Channeling US is better than channeling G4. Besides, at the rate that some people hog up Alliance frequencies, if I don't call some kind of dibs I'll get screwed. I might be the only member of the Luftwaffe that operates no Alliance city pairs.

She will love every minute of it, which is good enough for me. If I get bored, I get to look forward to South Africa.

well played, for the moment.

Problem is figuring out where to deploy them, beyond just flooding routes that compete with Pimpslap.

Great to hear - AUA had been on my May travel list but is now looking more like "end of year".

True - I think - and a much less obscure reference. Actually, I'm wrong. Channeling US isn't better than channeling G4. I was just referring to US' application to fly a route they didn't have the aircraft to fly.

I must be in the minority - I need to do stuff when I travel. I sleep in on sea days when I cruise, but otherwise I'm up early for breakfast and an excursion or golf. My take on it is this: why am I paying to go somewhere else when I could do the same nothing at my own home?

My daytrip to AUA (port call) was . You're right about the beaches, but the f-ing tradewind makes me not want to go back. A warm breeze all the time...wouldn't that remind you of home?

That's what I tell myself about marriage. She has told me that she wants to go places that really don't enthuse me, but if it works for her I'll pretend that I'm having a good time.

Leverage some Alliance goodness, or be a junior pimp and lease out your hoplanes.

I've really neglected AM. I'm not sure if I want to throw in the towel and bow out, or try to get it going again.:td::rolleyes: to me.

Meh. US applied for and got TLV and Airbus was almost done building their planes. I'm announcing my intent and buying the planes I need to fly said routes either today or tomorrow. With a guaranteed 72-hour delivery, I must say that I'm in better media image shape than Dougie.

If you want out, I'll take your Boeings.

For me, getting away is important as it's the only time I disconnect. If I'm in any of my normal environments, i always have a task list and am preoccupied.
