LOL yeah sorry about that.

Hey I am with you about more interesting movies then the stupid pull my hair out, rather have a root canal then suffer through one more "Romantic Comedy" like 27 dresses.

I just dont see how it can be done, esp in Y given the lack of privacy.

Fair statement, sir. The things I love about FT are few beyond The Box, truth be told. But I find myself coming back because on some level that I have yet to explain to myself, it's oddly compelling.

The virtual reality goggles are a viable idea, but out of the price point of a consistent Y flyer, as you would think that flying that much would at some time lead to being up front. The polarized laptop thing can work too. Now what matters is if you as an individual care if people around you are bothered. I for the most part don't, and whether or not I change what I'm doing depends on how I would be approached in that situation, but others may disagree.

YYZ-IAH-EZE-AEP-CNQ adventure last thursday

I did not post this before because i did not have time
but this is my adventure over the weekend:

YYZ thursday noon car picks me up from a meeting and takes me to airport,
gives me 2 bags of marshmellows that my mom had requested I bring to Argentina.
YYZ-IAH - on a XJ 145 (Lie flat seats were not really working)
IAH-EZE - as i posted before IFE not so good.
Fri AM at EZE and waited a good hour to even get into the immigration room.
Clear customs , they ask about the marshmellows, I tried to explain what they were, and they said ok ok . ( Last year my mom made me bring a fondue machine)
after clearing customs I meet the driver who will take me to AEP ( B Aires Domestic Airport) He tells me , " When i picked your mom up yesterday we stopped at a shoe outlet and they gave her the wrong size , we have to pick up the correct size" ( 1 hour travel time out of the way)
AEP - I finally get to the airport , I get my bag wrapped in plastic so no one steals the marshmellows :D , when i check in with AR , they tell me I have no ticket only a reservation.
After getting the agents to finally issue my ticket , the baggage tag jams the machine and the bp will not print.
I board the flight , even got an upgrade to domestic F on AR,
AEP-CNQ (Corrientes City ) I arrive and there was someone waiting to pick me up . He explains to me that the local police has shut down the bridge that connects where we are to my final destination.
By shutting down the bridge ,he meant "they chained themselves together and will not let anyone or anything pass and they have guns "

So the solution was for us to drive to a boat dock where they had arranged for me to cross the river via boat.
Once I got on the boat after having to step in the water since the dock was floating , we left for the other side where my uncle was waiting with a car.
3 minutes after leaving the dock , the boat engine shut down and we started floating down the river.
We managed to figure out the fuel line had come off and I used the plastic wrap from my bag to secure the fuel line and held it in place for the rest of the crossing.
I made it to my grandmother's bday that night and the next day flew back to AEP at noon , this time from RES ( on the other side of the river ) They alternate flight days , thats why I could not fly there to begin with.

Then spent sat afternoon and sunday in Buenos Aires and flew home sunday night.

While I am on the topic of movies, how did Hancock get greenlighted? I am trying to imagine the meeting the producer had with the Hollywood exec..."It's superman except he is a drunk a**hole."

Maybe, CO will start showing good movies when Hollywood starts making them...

LOL. Sounds like Sunday in Bangkok. I had made it halfway back to the airport from the city in a cab when we got snarled in a huge traffic jam. Police/Military had cordoned off the main highway with an impressive array of vehicles and high-powered weaponry at their disposal. The cabbie just circled round the block off the access road for about half an hour until the highway opened up again. No idea what that was all about. :D

No trains in that region of Argentina, about 15 years ago people stole the wood from the tracks and the trains were never used again or else somehow I would have ended up having to take one.

Were you in an actual cab or a Tuk Tuk ?

Anglo Large Clawed Otter May 27, 2008 11:57 am

Looks like (per this post) DL will be offering Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat Beer in its cabins in the near future.

I wish CO would offer at least one decent beer in lieu of the present offerings. I'm not asking for high-end Belgian stock...just something drinkable. Negra Modelo, Something by New Belgium Brewing Co (Fat Tire et. al.), Avery Brewing Co., Pacifico...something!

To and from the airport I rode in a real Cab. I did take a brief Tuk Tuk ride through the streets of BKK to get to a temple. I'm glad I had an entire bottle of Dom in my system at that point, as it was not the most relaxing ride of my life, to say the least. :D

Agreed.

Shiner Bock maybe, Live Oak, Fat tire, a wheat beer of some kind???

I feel like I should be asking people to check out my new haircut when I get to the PC and order a Heineken. Search youtube for "my new haircut" to get the reference.

+1 on that idea. Although New Belgium refuses to ship their product east of the Miss. to "preserve the integrity of the freshness". Or so I've read.

+1 to Pacifico too. Swap that out for the pre-mixed margarita.

That would be great. However, the last time I did the St. Arnold's brewery tour, they proudly mentioned how they don't ship out of Texas, and don't pasteurize the beer to maintain quality/taste. Good for beer drinkers, but bad for global (or national) distribution.
