I went ahead and booked a flight to the DO, no idea why except I figure I won't be needing a rental.

I once traded 40K SPG for 2x SWUs (equivalent to 60K UA miles for 2x one-way upgrades on SFO-SYD). Trader wanted 5 nights in a Cat 4, and as the fifth night is free on SPG award reservations, it was only 40K. I forgot to use my 50EPR Plat 50%-Off Award later that year. I could have gotten him that room for 20K SPG. :o

For as much time as I spend on this stupid website, I should really pay more attention to things other than Seinfeld quotes.

It's very simple. Make an award reservation with SPG of five nights or more, and each fifth night is gratis (i.e., you only pay four nights' worth of points). A five night award reservation costs what four nights would cost, and a ten night reservation would cost what eight nights cost...

IIRC, they also have a similar rate plan for paid reservations...

I'm not really sure at this point. Probably use them over the next year at various hotels. I was thinking 3 weekend nights at a Cat 2 and 2 nights at a Cat 4. I just dont plan on using the UA miles and it would be nice to have some SPG nights there for when needed.

While I love the performance of the 73G as an aerogeek, as an elite they annoy me due to the old fasioned exit rows. Awesome if you get the window seat, worthless for any other.

Trying the premium spirits?

MSNBC are making tools of themselves talking about the US crash in Manhattan...Lester Holt called it an "A320 regional jet".

That's why it's so quite here.

I must say, if the guy took of from LGA, as suspected, and landed in the Hudson in one piece, pretty impressive.

Now i'm just having flashbacks to the Seinfeld episode where Kramer swam in the East river.

Made to be flying at 20,000 feet? Yep, according to a CNN reporter. The media are morons. The US A320 seats 150 people. If you find a regional jet that seats 150, I will shoot myself before I ride on it.

Shhh! Don't give Bombardier any ideas about stretching the CRJ again! Because you know if they do, US, UA, and DL/NW will be all over it.
