My wife has little interest in Asia besides Japan and maybe Vietnam. I on the other hand would love to do HKG and BKK.

Thanks Captain literal. Now do you have any advise on getting an employment Visa in the land of "we hate everyone but ourselves?"

LOL , yeah jobaroo.com

But you already work here.

If you're being literal and defining here as in the US, yes. But there are significant disadvantages between the northeast US and AU including (but certainly not an exhaustive list):
  • It's cold here / there's snow on the ground.
  • There's no Turnpike in Australia.
  • There's no US Airways in Australia.
  • I'm looking out my window and don't see any palm trees.
  • Every time I hear the word "coffee" in this region I have to suppress the violent rage that builds up inside of me.
  • There's a lack of Australian accents amongst the female gender.
  • When I refer to a wombat here, it's generally not something that's cute.

Based on my limited experiences HKG~=BKK>>>VN. I haven't been in Japan more than an NRT overnight so I cannot really evaluate that, but I think it would be up near HKG/BKK.

Two letters - K and E (until later this year, of course).

Just don't try for more than 1 seat on the TPAC segments. ;)

Yeah, I was. But I'm right there with you - I've heard Oz is gorgeous and I really really want to go. I would very much enjoy doing West Coast-HKG-SIN-SYD and return. That routing would take care of lots of birds with one stone.

Yeah, I remember you posting about Vietnam and how you were not terribly impressed. I think I'd be interested mostly in the food and the war history.

India and China (outside of HKG) really do not spark anything in my mind.

I have much more of a "love affair" with South America and Africa.

I want to see South Africa, and I'd never say no to Rio. As much as I like to cruise, the cruises down that way don't appeal to me.

There's just something about it. By far the best "block" of my life was when I lived down there.

[ques up Powderfinger on iPod and racks his brain wondering where he can get a stewed tomato for lunch]

By the way, Dear rolov,.

I loved NRT when I visited for work and really would like to venture out beyond the city.

I have heard amazing things about Vietnam, including beaches that are second to none.

Same. I've already planted the idea of a 2010 trip to Santiago and/or South Africa in my fiancee's head. :)
