Still snowing, well flurrying, here. I sent an email to work that I'd be working from home instead of making the 30 mile drive only to be told by someone that it's only an inch at work. They're probably coming from south Jersey.

Unfortunately for this day and age, the old Stadium is considered relatively obsolete. It lacks a lot of creature comforts, the seats are now considered not as comfortable as newer ones, the egress and exiting for lower seats in the lower deck and higher seats in the upper is very difficult, and there is not enough room for the type of club facilities that are par for the course nowadays.

All it now really has going for it is that the sight lines are very good. And that does not make much difference when the crowd decides to stand for much or all of the game, as is now the practice. Since I do not like this practice, I thought long and hard about whether to buy the PSL when it was offered. I bit, but will give it back to them during the option period if I do not like the product.

I find the seats relatively uncomfortable, but that doesn't mean new is going to be better. I went to a Devils game last year and the seats were worse than I would imagine what Ryanair would be like.

Anyway, what gets my goat is the exorbitant cost of the PSL's. There are two teams financing the cost of this stadium and when you compare the price of the PSL's to previous stadiums it's completely out of whack. :td:

I offered my brother to go half on two PSL that his father in law was offered, but this was back in July. I haven't heard anything but given the economy and his layoff I'm rather glad I haven't heard anything.

Yep.

So I am "officially" checked-in (passport swiped and boarding passes printed) but I am still not on the upgrade list. It's a moot point now but still bugs me a little.

Stock-pick question for The Box:

If choosing between:

ConAgra Foods (CAG)
Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc (FCX)
JP Morgan Chase (JPM)
Kimberly-Clark (KMB)

Which would you go with? I'm not concerned about any short-term volatility (or cyclical issues, as with the mining sector), and am looking at holding for the long-haul.

CAG or KMB

Just found a prepaid rate at the 4P BRU for my first night there that's 10EUR cheaper than what I had reserved. ^

Also, looks like the Sheraton BRU has already pre-blocked me for a "1BDRM Apartment Suite" which includes free buffet breakfast, and my pre-reserved rate is cheaper than anything else currently available. ^ ^ ^

It's good to see dirt-cheap fares back. One-Way IAH-SAT = $39++ ($48 a/i).

Sometimes I think I'm the only Clevelander that misses the old Municiple Stadium used for both football and baseball.
Opening day and when the Indians were doing well they could fit over 70,000 fans. (what a hoot) When the Indians were doing their usual doormat impersonation, you could sit almost anywhere you wanted. And, have your own personal beer vendor.:D
As they were demolishing the old stadium, first thing ripped off was the roof. Funny thing is that it then looked exactly like the artist's rendering of the new stadium to be built. I figure they could've ripped off the roof, added some needed restrooms, and some club seating for about 25% of new construction costs.

Morning, Box.

As will I. Even if I was still employed, I couldn't have made BRU. Trying to get any holiday weekend off in the casinos is one step shy of suicide.

Mute because no chance for an upgrade? Did you speak with an agent?

Yeah, the chances are slim to none. 23 of 25 seats taken on the 762 with 6-7 people on the standby list.

I'll talk to one of the agents in the PC and see what she says.

Aye. Me too.

Although I really wish I wasn't dealing with what I'm dealing with this a.m.

Update.

Out of 9 people, I'm #3 on the list.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.... Now I'm #6.

Ahh well, 16A will be nice.

I think some of these people are bumps from the CO7 flight which is horribly delayed. I think they are shuttling them to EWR for some odd reason.
