I'd just like to express my  with the new FT interface. How did the rest of y'all make it to the forum? I had to go into my History tab to get here, as you can no longer click through from the Miles & Points tab.

I did a search for The Penalty Box. What is going on with the website? I cant see any of the Airline or CC forums (plus many others I never go to) with out searching?

I just loooooove all the recent changes to FT.

From the lack of notice with regard to opening certain forums to the world to never knowing whether FT will actually load to being unable to find certain forums: it is all good.

No worries. I hear they have UA's finest crack-team of IT Specialists sorting everything out.

Supposedly Internet Brands installed some search engine optimization plug-in. All the thread and post URLS seemed to have changed.

Yeah, it is a plug-in that isn't proven to work all that great and from what I've read there are more issues than it's worth.

Dear god, we might as well find a new home for the box then. :)

So FT decided to go with the static pages to reduce db queries? So now we'll just see disk I/O go through the roof at peak times and slow to a crawl as there is no built in caching. Good times.

On the other hand, I've always heard that vbulliten was an absolute piece of junk when you put it under load, so maybe this was the best they could do with what they have.

I thought it had to do with static pages as well but looking at the plugin they installed it is more to do with search engine optimization.

The pages aren't truly "static", they're dynamic but made to look more appealing to search engines.

FT is trying to go with ad revenue over usability - great theory.

In other news, I've now called CO 30 some times to check on KE availability and still nothing. We're at least leaving for ICN on the same day/flight now... I'm trying to move the JFK-ICN flight forward a day and then get us on the same flight for the ICN-JFK flight home (we're at least on the same day there).

Oh what fun this is! :D

Good on ya.

The Canuck didn't have a delay/cancellation today. We had all rain where I am (near HPN). A ton of flooding though. An employee who lives in Orange Co said things were a bit icy up there, but not terrible. She'd be just a "little" bit late. Still haven't seen her.

In other news - today is bonus distribution day. @:-)

My friend in payroll gave me an ADP envelope with the following message printed on the stub:

In lieu of a bonus, a donation has been made in your name to the Human Fund.
The Human Fund - money for people.
:D
