Its turned out to be a nice day in Dublin. It rained pretty hard but we were on the Guiness tour so it didnt matter. I kinda wish we were going out of the city tomorrow but weve already bought hop on hop off bus tickets for tomorrow.
Flight over here was nice as the $ ELR worked out in my favor and we had a middle seat open between us. I also got a suite upgrade at the Westin and will post pics when I get home. I strongly suggest we consider DUB as a Brew-DO destination. Its fairly cheap to get here but beer prices are right in line with Manhattan. |

I've never been able to get that to work. "I'm sorry, Mr. Sullivan, but we cannot see your status from Continental."
Fine. I'll suck it up and suffer in 30" pitch on a 734 that hasn't seen an interior retrofit (other than to cram more seats in) since Reagan was in the White House.

I am now operating on FaceBook under my real name. :/ Had some Benadryl with my morning coffee to help me breathe. Four hours of napping later, I'm back. :o Didn't take a lot, and didn't really notice that anvil that hit me upside the head. |

Nothing to do but wait for Monday. It'll get worse if the merger is announced on Monday. Hundreds of speculation threads, etc. Repeat after DOJ review/approval and as we get closer to the end of the year.
Of course this is coming from someone who may have a hard time making it to Gold status this year. |

Wow. I'm apparently almost dead, I'm so old. I was at a hotel this week in NJ that I realized mid-week, the last time I stayed there was 22 years ago... when I worked at MSKCC and lived in Manhattan.
When did I get this old?

I keep forgetting you haven't met me (or teh Canuck) yet. We are possibly two of the most easy-going people in the world and are not offended by anything. Which is probably how we can tolerate each other. @:-)

Aye, and I appreciate that you found the humor (though your sense of humor is keen and I would've been surprised if you hadn't found it funny), but some people might find it  so I've changed it. While I believe that people who found that offensive are silly, at some point you have to pick your battles. I paraphrased my comments on loyalty to bricks instead; it is more apropos given the current forum climate.

Keeping my ! <--- ? thread afloat is tough. There craziness keeps rising to the top.

Morning all
First, good news. 5 day upgrades in both directions for CLE-IAH Sun and Mon ^. First class Kenjet seat to AMA and back. So, if anyone wants into the PC Sunday afternoon in CLE or IAH, let me know. Same is true returning Mon PM. Second. I have an upcoming trip on US. Can I as a Star Gold or CO Plat get any special seating requests filled? Should I even ask? And do I get my 500 EQM miles/1 segment on the flights even if they are less than 500 miles? (I am so looking foward to this trip :o)

They really either need to combine logos and branding in some way, or come up with something entirely new. Simply keeping the UA brand image as is the worst option.

Yeah, and it's looking increasingly likely that it is moving in fact. Bloomberg just felt confident enough to repeat the stock swap ratio reported earlier in the day.
My angst exists on several levels, not the least of which is that I turn 62 in Sept, and had decided to buy a lifetime PC membership at that time. Now, it may be a race to see if there still are PC's in Sept or not. But, given the dimensions of this, probably so. BTW, of course, "pack of cigarettes," in my post that you quoted, is allegorical. Cigars and pipes, yeah. Toxic tubes of paper around the sot weed, not so much.

Just checked the mail. I now have my fourth National Emerald Club card this year. They sent the wrong one twice, and I never called about it, but they figured it out and sent the correct one, and now another correct one.

Yep, if we lose the CO name we might as well keep CO's colors and logo and just swap out the CO name and slap on the UA name, same font and colors. UA needs to paint most of their planes anyway and CO's paint jobs are still fresh looking, so why waste more money painting the entire combined fleet now. 10 years from now they can come up with a totally new livery and font, like CO did in the early 90s. |

I guess it's convenient that Chase has both the UA and CO cards going. I have both - - wonder which account will be retiring.
Houston weather sux today, Box. Should've gotten out for the weekend... |
