Whereas here in teh Pit, it's cloudy and gloomy w/ tons o' humidity. I walked out of the house this morning, and a wet mop hit me in the face. Plus, we have scattered showers throughout the area. Storms this weekend are forecast.:( It's an indoor weekend. Plus, I have photog72 toddler this weekend since my wife is on call. Time for a visit to the Children's Museum of Houston.

The thing that you're missing is that the bulk of NJT's revenue comes from commuters. Even with the fare hike, it's still cheaper then driving and parking in Manhattan.

At this point public transportation is not about cost but about convenience.

Why not just drive to EWR and park at Fastrack? I think it's close to $15/day which isn't horrible and you can get a 10% discount for booking on their site. That's what I do now.

I think many people are going to find out about parking for free in Jersey City and taking the Path in.

I'm pretty sure I got rejected, which is surprising. When I call the status line they say they'll send me notice of the decision within 30 days.

It's the liberal arts side of me that finds things like that interesting.

Just read some of the planned pricing for SMDII. Only the TATL is posted but add in getting to JFK, return home from SEA and then the domestic portion of the DO it's not cheap. I was looking to get one or two friends in on this but that does not look like it will happen.

Leslie Buck, the inventor of the iconic NY paper coffee cup (the Grecian "We're happy to serve you" blue and white) just died. And what I took to be a C5 just flew over at about 2000 feet. Just now heard the engines throttle, and there it was, climbing well to south of AUS.

Wierd day, here.

Fiancee stayed home quasi-sick. Refuses to go to her doctor. She is watching Jerseylicious. My world is about to implode.
