I've just booked a bunch of flights with the BD ICC. Admittedly, silly local EU flights, but still, very easy process to make happen. Gives me a glimmer of hope for the future.

ETA: AmEx freaked out about the bookings and put a temp hold on the card, but I got that cleared up.

+ a million

Greetings from the NYS Thruway. Decided to stop for a quick lunch at a rest stop. Doctor's office called and wanted me to move my appointment up 90 minutes. I negotiated them back to 60. I think everyone wants to start the weekend early. I'll be  if I end up sitting in the office and waiting.

Second. I have an upcoming trip on US. Can I as a Star Gold or CO Plat get any special seating requests filled? Should I even ask? And do I get my 500 EQM miles/1 segment on the flights even if they are less than 500 miles? (I am so looking foward to this trip :o)

As a *G (either from UA or CO), I have always been auto-assigned seats in the front if I am buying the tix myself, and the travel agent can usually get me a seat in the front, though I can't change seats without getting moved to the back. Since US is now charging its own elites for certain seats in the front of the plane, you probably wouldn't get far by calling, but it might be worth a try. The US website probably won't let you choose your own seats except in the back of the plane.

If you are a CO Plat, you will get your 500 EQM minimum for US flights.

Back from lunch. Still angry over the stupidity of something but I calmed down enough to delete the previously mentioned email. Hopefully by the time Monday 's around I'll be back to my normal passive aggressive professional self.

In other news, I think I'm playing my cards all wrong on the whole CO/UA merger thing. My stance as a pacifist and a sounder of normalcy is the wrong move. I need to join the crazy club and denounce and bemoan the evil UA.

In my simple mind, based on my annual spend, I'm a veritable whale. The kind of customer that combined airline is really going to want to retain through the merger. Maybe if I fly the crazy flag they'll throw in a benefit of epic proportions to pacify me.

I'm gunnin' for GS, friends. NOW GET OUT OF MY WAY. :D

Y:rolleyes: Bizz:rolleyes:x,

I had to share yet another awesome reward ticket booking with y'all. Since I became plat 2 years ago, I have probably saved $200 in change fees, which makes it all worthwhile. I picked at this scab of a COACH ticket now for 5 weeks and came up with the following:

UA Y SAT-LAX
TG J LAX-BKK-DPS
TG J DPS-BKK-ICN
OZ J ICN-LAX
CO F LAX-IAH-SAT

Not too shabby, imho! The only bad spot is the coach flight to LAX, but it is direct and it is also the first segment, so I will just have to make do. Guess I should be getting used to it....the phone agent told me that it will probably be merger-official on M:rolleyes:nday.....

I also am hoping that the revolution in Thailand hurries up and commences, as I have some debauchery to attend to! ;)

When original Frontier failed, I was going to TUS a fair amount, so I had a good mileage balance. Both UA and CO comped their FF program members their Frontier (can't remember the code; wasn't FL, F9 is the new; might have been FA?) balances. That was the source of my first and last UA elite card ever, and the source of loyalty to CO. Long ago...
