As a purely leisure traveler, SPG properties (existing or planned) in locations like Urubamba, Ulaanbaatar, El Calafate, Isle of Pines (New Caledonia), Split, Queenstown, Seychelles, Mauritius, etc., are what attract me to the SPG currency.

It does look like the Summerfield here at the Galleria is pretty cheap on weekends, though. I may end up stocking up on some promo 5K bonuses. ^

Right now, Hyatt is my preferred program, with SPG as my backup! It's nice to build up points in both!^

In other words, he was exempt from normal TSA screening procedures, correct?

Yikes! That is really shocking!

According to the TSA document Seth disclosed. If it proves to be true that it was a diplomat that did this, it will have vary serious international consequences. I am pretty sure it is cause for war.

Passenger on a United flight from Washington to Denver apparently tried to set shoe on fire, officials said.

Try Qatari Consular Official. That's sure to ruffle some diplomatic feathers. :-:

Well on Friday it's supposed to be a high of 59 and a low of 34. I'll leave the windows open that night. ^

We wouldn't go to war with Qatar because one of their consular officials was a sleeper. They are a staunch ally in a very unstable region, and going to war with them would only make the powder keg situation in the Middle East even worse. There's a difference between concerted state action and rogue actors. I doubt the government of Qatar chose some mid-level diplomatic flunky to sign their death-warrants with.

That's why I opted for points, rather than free nights, as my promo. The points won't expire, and they are fungible. ^
