Apologies if this was discussed before as I had not come across any information specific to shower facilities in my brief search.
Yes - the regular Admirals lounge does have shower facilities. As I recall, the outer one definitely does. The inner one (where Flagship Lounge is) has them and I think you can access them without having FL privileges but I can't recall for sure. Last time I used that shower, it was after an early AM LAX redeye and I was connecting to SJU - as I was flying F, I had access. As I recall, I got locked in somehow (the hall connects to FL lounge and that door was locked) so the setup is somewhat unusual. I'm sure somebody can chime in with a little more detail. In any event, the outer club definitely has showers.

Also, you should see if you have access as US Plat to Admirals Club for free. AA Plats get

"Platinum members receive:

Access to the Business Class lounges of all oneworld airlines on the day of travel when flying internationally,* as long as your continuing flight is marketed and operated by a oneworld airline"

Yes, both JFK Admiral's Clubs have showers (see the thread wiki). Can't comment on the concourse C club, but the one in B has decent views and is rarely full.

I like the showers in the 40's Gate Club, I've showered there after several redeyes.

I used the Admirals Club at Gate 12 last weekend. First of all, I can confirm they still have bagels (as did the RDU AC actually) but wow is it getting ratty already. Most of the seats are visibly worn with scuffs or the padding poking through. Also, the first set of outlets I tried were inoperative.

This lounge is at most 7 years old...very disappointing.

Yes. Opened August 2007 according to http://www.aa.com/content/images/amrcorp/factnyc.pdf

(The one in the remote concourse opened August 2005.)

Not nearly as sad as a bunch of BA lounges I've been to, which look like they've had 300-pound men jumping up and down on the chairs continually for a decade.

To the AAngel who sorted me out with a window seat instead of the middle seat I was in originally and to the gentleman who gave me two drink chits out of the blue, I thank you both for making my day better. Love coming to the JFK admirals club.

I'm OW Sapphire flying to CUN with my husband and 2 children (both under 8). Is it worth asking to access the JFK lounge? I know BA count the kids as guests, but I wasn't sure whether the same was true for AA.

Worth asking. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...unt-guest.html is a good read.

Note that Cancun does not count as international for lounge access purposes if you are an AA or US elite.

But Mexico City does count as "international" for lounge access purposes. Even if connecting via DFW or MIA. As long as the flight to/from MEX is on the same calendar day.

Sure, but that wasn't the question.

Access might well depend upon which oneworld airline your Sappire status is based. If it's AA Platinum, no access for Cancún bound passengers.

I'm Cathay Gold, so should have me plus a guest, I'll just wait and see with the kids!

AA JFK Lounge not up to competitive standards

Had occasion to visit the AA lounge in JFK prior to a flight to ZRH before Christmas, traveling in business class. Our flight was delayed so we got to use the lounge into the early evening. I have to say that the lounge was very disappointing when compared with the BA lounge in T7. The selection of snacks was just awful, they even removed what limited choice was available at about 7pm. Why? While we were given drinks coupons for that bar, that pales in comparison to most international airline business class lounges.

As an EXP I could get access to the flagship lounge... for me and one guest, the rest of my family would have to stay in the admirals club. I did venture in there and grab some food to take back to the admirals club, but even flagship is no match for BA's JFK business class lounge.

Our return flight connected through LHR and at least AA's lounge in T3 was more up to par for international airline lounges with hot food provided and open bar -- though part or me says that we should probably have checked out BA's lounge in T3.
