Any issues with just leaving for my JL flight and no-showing CDG-IST (or cancelling if JL lets me board)? If JL doesn't let me board CDG-HND, I could just return and continue to IST later that evening.... and get back to LAX from IST... all within the 72 hours of my pre-trip US PCR test?
Good luck! Let’s hope it works out. We need another TR and who cares about the places you visit, it’s all about the flights [this is a joke for those who don’t get it; the TRs are amazing]

Transfer in TYO is only allowed at NRT. Terminal 3 at HND is currently setup to make everyone go through the special covid immigration process on arrival which involves walking around the whole terminal and transit is blocked so they won't let you board in CDG.

Furthermore I'm not sure if LAX is part of the flights that moved over to T2 but a terminal change would kill your plan either way. As other have mentioned, I recommend you take the AF flight to NRT and connect there.

Call NH and explain the situation to them and if you insist enough a member of staff will wait for you right off the bridge at NRT with your BP, if you're flying in First they'll make an extra effort.

Thanks very much Digicola for the reality check on the HND transfer. Going to have to re-think this one. I'll try change to NRT but VS gave me grief on my last change as I've apparently used up my 10 award ticket changes on this return leg of a RT from two years ago.

I do hope you can make this work out. Seems like a very nice way to cross over to the US. I also believe NH is using their new suites on the route.

Do tell us how it goes (even if its in the covid restrictions thread), if you don't mind doing so of course.

AF upgrading CDG-ORD to 77W with La Première

Just came across this tonight on EF. Looks like La Premiere 77W service starts April 2nd. Bookable on AF.com. So far only 3x weekly is loaded. But this is a nice addition to AF long-haul P service.

A nice addition to something "Central", JFK is too short enjoy and LAX/SFO are inconvenient for us on the East Coast so hopefully one day I can try this out.

great news. I don’t think it will stay as ORD has always been the weakest AF station in North America, but who knows !
I am dreaming to return to ORD once those f.....g borders reopen

How about this for an La Première fix? Although just a little longer CDG connection would be nice.

Incredible P flight CDG-SFO yesterday. Little bit of a surprise upon landing when the panel above my seat decided to crash down above me.

Nevertheless, I can’t say enough about the ground service at CDG. From the complimentary Hertz DriveU airport transfer to the check in and shortcuts through the back hallways to the car transfer to the plane. Absolutely blows away whatever LH/LX have to offer during the pandemic (maybe different in normal times with FCT in FRA). Hope AF is able to keep this up- already looking forward to my next flight.

Hey all - curious to hear of any updates/new La Premiere routes for coming months! Keen to get on another P flight with AF in the next 2-3 months, especially after watching some videos and photos from my last trip. If you like, have a look http://instagram.com/thedutchglobetrotter/ :-)

As theKrafty1tar said, it comes very close to the service I used to get as a HON. Very very nice... and can't wait to do again.

Sadly, it looks like you are correct. ORD and La Première appears to be very short lived.
I tried booking something in June only to discover that ORD is back to A332 as of May 30th.

With the possible exception of Etihad or Emirates, I can’t think of a better seat in F. And even then I prefer the light, open seat of AF.
