I have a WAW-CDG-SFO flight coming up in P with an overnight layover in Paris at the end of the month.
Mostly just curious about what I should expect on arrival at CDG given that my connection is 15 hours later (I seem to remember that last time I arrived in J at CDG from WAW it was at terminal 2G(?) with a very long bus transfer).
I will be leaving the airport and staying with family overnight, however I was able to book a complimentary Hertz Drive-U service to CDG on the morning before the SFO flight.

To come back to your question, I am not sure you have to expect anything arriving the day before. Best case scenario is that they will wait for you in the jetway and escort you through passport control and baggage claim.

I had an overnight connection at CDG in P in 2015, they escorted me through baggage claim, and by car to my hotel (in CDG). They picked me up by car at my hotel the next morning.

Looking to book CDG-MEX again, but my journey to start in BRU or AMS. When ticketed by KL, it's about 2200 AF charges 5500 euro.
Would I still be able to upgrade to La Premiere, when ticketed by KL? Or, smaller chances of luck? (I do know LH and LX don't work well together, hope not same here).

My La Première plans took a double hit last week as I had to cancel this month's LAX-CDG-IST when LX retimed ZRH-ORD, and then I had to cancel next month's MEX-CDG-HND when AF postponed the restart of CDG-HND. As a consolation, I prepared my latest version of Coquillettes for Valentines Day. Mrs. SFO777 proclaimed that this was my best yet and "even better than in the La Première Lounge". Whoa!

So JL operates a 77W on CDG-HND on the day I was hoping to travel with a 5 hour CDG connection. If I fly MEX-CDG on AF on one ticket, can I access the LPL on arrival and then make my own way to the JL gate, with a separate CDG-HND ticket?

your plan may work but not 100% sure (to check with P line) but with the current restrictions, it is not really advisable to travel on separate tickets.

Can you enter Japan anyway? I thought the country was currently on full lockdown and didn't allow any non Japan citizens/residents. Likely why most flights have been cancelled for the near future.

Correct, I cannot "enter" Japan but this would be the end of a quick RTW and I'd only be connecting. I need to land at HND as my (free use it or lose it) NH F flight back to LAX is HND-LAX.

MEX to LAX via CDG and HND is definitely one of the more creative routings out there . Although if it's in La Première, JL F and ANA F, it hardly gets better than that .

I agree that it's probably not advisable, but it's just me traveling, so my tolerance for disruption and chaos is much higher when if I was flying with a +1. Plus I really need an AF LP fix.

Good question. Another concern might be will AF let me board in MEX with just a CDG destination on my AF ticket? Now, a MEX-CDG-IST ticket (for the same 230K miles) should work since I and almost anyone can enter Turkey. Plus if I did this, I wouldn't have any problem accessing and spend time in the LPL. Any issues with just leaving for my JL flight and no-showing CDG-IST (or cancelling if JL lets me board)? If JL doesn't let me board CDG-HND, I could just return and continue to IST later that evening.... and get back to LAX from IST... all within the 72 hours of my pre-trip US PCR test?
