I have both Global Entry and NEXUS. They are both expiring this year. When I went on the TTP site, I was offered to renew my Global Entry card, so I did and I was approved in just a few days without the need for another interview.
When I went to add on my Nexus membership, it said I had to send an email to the TTP help center in order to renew NEXUS. I was not allowed to renew at that time. Any idea on what is going on here? Thanks. Steve |
Why in the world would you pay for both GE and Nexus renewals if Nexus includes the benefits of GE and costs half the price? |

Thanks. Steve You renewed your Global Entry, you cannot renew your NEXUS. You need to re-apply NEXUS separately via paper application. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...ferrerid=22732 https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...ferrerid=22732 |

Question about Nexus
Hello. I have a dew questions about nexus and hope someone can clarify: 1. Does nexus membership allows Global Entry when I’m arriving from a country that is not Canada? I.e, if I fly back to the U.S from the UK, can I still use Gloval entry? 2. If yes, is there anything extra I need to do? I’m scheduling my nexus interview online and right under the schedule button, there is another button called ‘Change to Global Entry’. Do I need to pay attention to this button? 3. How do I know which interview centers has iris scan? thanks! |

Do not push the button since it will switch you to the more expensive and less useful program. 3. The CBSA list of enrolment centres (note Canadian spelling, hee; link below) indicates which ones can do it. You don't need to get the Iris scan done when you interview, you can also get it later as a drop in (no appointment needed). https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/location-eng.html |

Just a heads-up for Nexus or GE members using a Nexus console while entering Canada - the questions were modified to now include the word "food", where it never existed on the printed cards or the machines prior to being able to use them instead of the cards. If you are entering Canada and using Nexus, you'll need to follow the same declaration process so you don't risk losing both Nexus and GE if they are tied to each other.

Completed Interview, status changed to 'Pending Review'
Apologies if this has been answered before. My mom and dad did their in person interviews last week. While they were at the counter, I logged into both of their accounts and noticed the status had been changed from Conditionally Approved to Pending Review. Once they completed all the formalities, my dad's status went to Approved, while my mom remained in Pending Review. I heard that this might be due to an officer forgetting to click the 'Save' button for the second passenger, when they do a joint interview for a couple (the second part where they explain the procedures/take photos/fingerprints). After 48 hours I called the center and they told us the fingerprints hadn't come back for her on the US side just yet, and didn't have a timeline on when it might. Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't know why the prints would come back immediately for my dad but not for my mom (who has no criminal or immigration violations of course). So I'm curious what our next steps should be. At the counter they told them to call the office to check on the 'revet' status, but none of us are entirely sure what that meant, I'm assuming revetting, but not sure what that entails or means exactly. Any insight in all this would be appreciated. They have a trip coming up at the end of the month and it'd be wonderful if they both have their NEXUS cards by then.

Iris scans and Detroit enrollment center
I have Global Entry and have been conditionally approved for Nexus. I will be interviewing next month at the Detroit enrollment center. I live far away from the border, so this is a trip.
(Originally I was going to interview at Blaine, but Allegiant canceled my flight to nearby BLI as they are going through some difficulties during their fleet transition from MD-80 to Airbus). I understood previously that Detroit enrollment center did not have iris photograph capability on location. One would have to get the scan done at the Windsor Airport. I believed I could just cross the river and get the scan done the same day, as a friend did who interviewed at Niagara Falls Nexus enrollment center to convert from Global Entry to Nexus. He was given a slip of paper after his interview to go over to the CBSA in Fort Erie for an iris photograph. I called up the CBSA at the Windsor Airport and learned one must have the Nexus card in their possession for an iris photograph. One cannot go over there right after their interview in Detroit to do this. I have a Global Entry card with a PassID (Known Traveler Number). While Canada does not recognize Global Entry for admission, I have been told one's Known Traveler Number remains the same converting from Global Entry to Nexus. Couldn't I go with my Global Entry card and passport after the interview and approval to have an iris photograph and get it associated with my KTN as it will remain the same? Why doesn't Detroit Nexus enrollment center have the iris scan while Blaine does? Perhaps as Detroit major airport is DTW on the US side and Blaine serves YVR? |
Blaine is the only U.S. location that is staffed by CBSA (after they leave Seattle). You are better off flying to any enrolment centre in Canada and getting it done right the first time. |
