Is this a fact? I need to be certain as my spouse has a renewal next month and has been using the existing, and still valid WA State license that has 2 more years on it vs changing to a California license because we've had no time to take from work to get an appointment at the CA DMV and there are no appointments available before the Nexus/GE renewal appointment. I had my own Nexus/GE card issued and renewed with my HI license that just has a vacation home address and is not my permanent residence, but there is no way I'm giving up my HI license - the US inspector questioned why, but was satisfied with my answer.
Edit: a specific answer is available here and here |

Edit: a specific answer is available here and here Interesting that the links say foreign nationals are not eligible for cards, and that they only ship to us and Canada addresses. I wonder what they do for Mexican nationals who are eligible for cards. I did they did give cards to other eligible foreign nationals, like UK or Indian citizens, even if it meant shipping it to a trusted US or Canadian address. |
TTP website has a new feedback page that came up when I exited it. I encourage anyone with issues to submit their feedback. I submitted the following, which admittably strayed from providing direct feedback about the website to feedback about the NEXUS program itself:
"Please send confirmation emails upon application submission, or when selecting canceling/rescheduling interviews--would make it easy to auto integrate into calendar apps such as Google Calendar. TTP/CBP/CBSA websites are unclear on whether permanent residents need to be resident inside US/Canada for three years in order to be eligible for NEXUS. CBP just says permanent residents are eligible for NEXUS in general, CBSA says 'certain' PRs are eligible without needing to be resident for three years, which from indications on Flyertalk.com seems to mean PRs married to military/diplomatic staff abroad. But the lack of clarity is confounding, especially since for Global Entry, US PRs are eligible once they officially receive their status upon entering the US. This doesn't seem to be the case for NEXUS but clarity would be helpful. Please clarify if NEXUS address changes need to be done online only, as CBSA says, or require an in person visit to an enrollment center, as CBP says. Please indicate on the list of enrollment centers which centers have iris/retina scan capability. This is shown on the CBSA's site, but not on the TTP or CBP site. Also please indicate that not obtaining the retina scan will prevent you from using the NEXUS kiosks when arriving by air into Canada (though according to members on Flyertalk.com, you would likely be sent through the special services line if you have NEXUS but did not do an iris scan yet--which ideally could be done on arrival at that point if possible). Please consider implementing iris scans at all enrollment centers, including the land based centers on the US side of the border, none of which, to the best of my knowledge, currently offer iris/retina scan capability. Please allow non US/Canada citizens/PRs/Mexican nationals who are eligible to receive Global Entry (e.g. UK/Swiss/Singapore citizens living in those countries) to receive Global Entry cards, even if an extra $25 charge is needed to ship it to addresses in those countries, or permit them to receive a card at a designated US/Canada address. This would permit them to cross by land into the US through NEXUS/Global Entry lanes and relieve some pressure from the other lanes as a trusted traveler." Cross posting this to the TTP - New Trusted Traveler Programs Website - Replaced GOES Effective Oct 1, 2017 thread if the mods don't mind. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trus...2017-a-14.html |

"We need one clear photocopy of your documentation that shows both the front and the back, e.g., driver's license, birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, permanent resident card" ---> Well, just what passport pages do you want? Just the picture page, or every internal page? Surely they don't want the front and the back. "Each copy should be on a separate piece of paper" ---> Don't use the word "should". Is it a requirement or not? |

You can ask your credit card company. A FTer complained to Chase, Chase credited his/her $50 NEXUS application/renewal fee.
I tried for my CSR to get my $50 Nexus renewal credited and was given a no - I definitely tried with secure messaging and I think on the phone also. Same with my wife. Think I’ve seen others on here denied as well. Honestly, makes no sense to me, but it is what it is. $10/year isn’t going to make or break the card worth for me. I’ll try again at next renewal. I thought Amex specifically has Nexus reimbursement as an option, though I don’t personally have the Amex - I barely use Uber so the plat is pretty much a non-starter for me. Maybe if my travel was all to places with a centurion lounge it might be worth it. |
Heading up to Seattle for my 10 year Nexus renewal today. To confirm, even though an in-person renewal was required this time, they will still be able to retain my original iris scan correct? I.e. I don’t need to stop at a Canada Nexus center for a new iris scan? |

When I went in for my renewal interview last month at YYZ (after 10-years like you - my last renewal 5 years ago did not require the interview), they did not take another iris scan. So I *suspect* yours will be retained. They did retake fingerprints however.
Also, the officer informed me that in late July, the Seattle location on Perimeter Road will cease being a Nexus enrollment center. Canada is pulling their immigration officer from this site for cost reasons. |

Just had my interview, and indeed you are correct on both fronts (more fingerprints, and iris scan retained). They also took me in nearly 2 hours early, so it is OK to arrive early for your appointment at this location. |

When my wife & I got our Nexus renewals last year & AMEX did not reimburse them (both $50 charges were on my Platinum card) I called AMEX to complain that reimbursing Nexus is no different than reimbursing GE, and that they had reimbursed me for both five years earlier when I originally applied (automatically). The rep agreed and issued a $100 credit to my account.
