How can you claim your current residence in the US if you don’t have a valid visa to back it up? Either apply as a resident of Canada or wait til you get the TN renewed and apply as a US resident. |

You must scan all three. There is a counter on the scanner that tells you how many cards were scanned. If something goes wrong, though, and they don’t all scan properly, you can present them to the officer when you drive up. You don’t do it one by one. Just hold all three up together slightly staggered. They are RFID (they aren’t being photographed), so it can read all three together.

In my experience, fanning our four cards and scanning them all at once results in one of them being undetected quite a lot of the time. If I scan them one at a time, with a second or two between each one, it has always worked.

Does CBSA NEXUS lanes have the "number scanned" display? I've seen it crossing into USA (Champlain, Whirlpool, Rainbow) but not to CAN. (St. Bernard de Lacolle, Whirlpool, Peace, Saint-Armand / Phillipsburg)

They were recently (about a year ago) installed on the Canadian side as well. At least at the Rainbow bridge |

Didn’t see them at CBSA Rainbow two weeks ago. There are no dedicated NEXUS lanes there either. CBP Rainbow do have them even with no NEXUS lane. |
One more question: we are Canadian PR holders so I know we still have to get i94 when entering US. When returning to Canada are we required to show the PR cards even if the border agent doesn't ask for them?

Just FYI, the Seattle (King County Boeing Field, BFI) enrollment center has stopped accepting enrollments for NEXUS. (Canada removed its agent from that location due to, I've heard, budget cuts.) BFI continues to be available for Global Entry interviews along with SeaTac and Blaine.

hi
my passport had expired.. and my nexus was still valid for 3 years after.. the officer informed me that I MUST remember to update my nexus card when mypassport was renewed. I got my passport renewed, but in the flight hurry, forgot to update nexus.. an officer said that they were revoking my nexus then. Its been 2 years since.. can I apply for nexus again. since it was an honest mistake and my nexus was valid, just that I forgot to provide my new passport details. thanks a lot for any insight. I travel to the US quite a lot & having nexus is a great help. |
Finished interview and got approved immediately on last Sat (6/30). The Canadian officer is very nice and helpful but the US agent.. well.. i don't have to say more..
I have a question though.. can I use my PASSID for TSA-precheck before i got and activated my Nexus Card? I tried to do it on my recent flight but the airline ticket agent has problem to print out my boarding pass with the TSA-precheck logo. We tried both with/without my middle name and still not working... Should I worry about it? I have another trip coming up soon in 2 weeks... |

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this....I'm in the process of renewing NEXUS for my husband and I and I've run into an issue with his application. He was born in HK and immigrated to Canada as a child. I cannot find his birth certificate to prove he's a Chinese citizen-I've only got his HKID card but the new application system only provides birth certificate or citizenship certificate. Should I enter his HKID card as his "citizenship certificate" (technically it's a citizenship card) or just remove it entirely since I can't prove his right to abode there? (I can't remember what I used for the initial application but I'm fairly certain I didn't have his birth certificate).

If he immigrated to Canada as a child is he also a Canadian citizen? If yes, they're looking for Canadian citizen card/letter
