I showed up at the YYZ T1 Nexus office last Tuesday and signed up on the "update documents" list, to update my driver's license expiry date.
I was told it wasn't necessary, so I left. |

The GOES site allows you to update documents that are required for your NEXUS and GE files. There is no need to go to any office. Every NEXUS member has or can have access to the GOES site.

But not the expiry date on your license, even though it's listed there.

Anyone apply for NEXUS recently? It's now been over 7 weeks since I submitted my application and it's still showing "Pending Review" on GOES. Is the system that backed up?

When applying or being interviewed, are you asked the reason for wanting a NEXUS card. My real reason is that I see long lines sometimes and if I use it 3 times over 5 years, it will be like a service charge of less than $10 to save time, assuming each trip consists of crossing twice. Do they expect you to say that you go often on business or have relatives?
Besides speed, another reason I want it is the small size. Passports require carrying a bag or letting it stick out of a shirt pocket. An alternate small card is an enhanced driver's license. -- What's the best combination to have? I think it is a NEXUS card, passport, and enhanced driver's license. I need a passport anyway so the added cost is $50 (NEXUS) + $15 (EDL). The EDL could be used when the passport is being renewed and the NEXUS invalid because of passport renewal. |

All they wanted to know is if it was for personal or business. That was pretty much the full extent of that kind of questioning. |

I'm in the same boat - I applied on August 18th and still it's "pending review". I phoned the Nexus CBSA help line a few weeks back, and they said that normally it takes 4 weeks, but now it's at 6-8 weeks because of DHS delays.

Sorry if this was covered somewhere in 227 pages of posts, but is there any way, other than an in person visit, to update your employment information?
Traveling to a Nexus office just to update employment info is really a pain - why can't it be done through GOES online? |
Has anyone else noticed that at YVR US Pre-clearance, the NEXUS machines malfunction much more often now? The past few weeks, I've had to use the GE kiosk instead of the NEXUS kiosk...
