It states clearly on the web site that you must have all the documents being referenced (proof of nationality/birth, passport, drivers license if also applying for NEXUS land) and proof of your current address (utility or tax bill) for presentation at the interview.
No harm, when I explained that to the nexus folks they simply said to fax the BCs and I did. |

I'm awaiting processing of my application, and am curious about this.
On my application I used only a passport for proof of citizenship, it didn't ask for more. I used a DL for proof of my American address, again it didn't ask for more. Since I have no idea where my birth certificate is (I'd have to order a new copy, I guess), I am hopeful that I will not need it. Anyone who can confirm they did not need a BC for NEXUS interview? Thanks. |

Find your Birth Certs. It's not clear in the invite or letter but they do ask for it.

We interviewed in Fort Erie (in 2010). The NEXUS staff only looked at our driver's licenses and passports, nothing else.
I suspect that in many cases, your birth certificate information can be electronically verified (and you do provide it during the NEXUS application process). If there is a verification failure, they may want to see it. (Pure speculation on my part but I suspect it might be the case.) |

I interviewed in Seattle (1st time application, US citizen). The letter stated to bring passport and invitation letter. They asked to see the passport and driver's license.
I was not born in Canada and I did not bring my foreign BC or my Canadian citizenship card. I did bring my foreign passport, Canadian passport and DL. They took all my ID above and recorded the info but said not to worry about my BC or citizenship card. They didn't bother asking for the online acceptance letter from GOES either. |
How long for conditional approval?
Just wondering how long the wait was for those who have had recent Nexus interviews from application to conditional approval?
Looking at older posts, the average wait time was 2-3 weeks, but I applied on Feb 14th, and am still waiting... Are processing times getting longer these days? |

Timeline:
Applied Feb 5, Conditional approval March 15. Can't seem to get any interviews anytime soon convenient, so I've signed up to do the interview in Detroit this weekend. Any experience with Detroit? If I decide to turn around right after the interview and head back to DTW and fly out, do I even need to enter Canada? Is Detroit one of the places requesting birth certificates? |
Expiry date of my current card is tomorrow 23MAR.
Renewal application was filed on 26JAN. Conditional approval was received on 07MAR. I did my renewal interview at YUL last Thursday 15MAR. My new Nexus card was in my mailbox today, 22MAR. 57 days from start to finish, with a bit of luck grabbing an appointment last week when I saw that someone had cancelled. Otherwise my scheduled appointment was on 01MAY at the Champlain, NY enrolment center. |

They never asked at all to see it. |

6 weeks is now the norm. I applied for all four of ours on the same day and I think about 6 weeks to the day all four got conditionally approved.
Then it took 3 months before the interview in YEG. |

First time applicant. How hard is it to report change of passport docs with Nexus and GE? We have an interview beginning of April for my family with my current passport on the application, my passport expires in mid November and I was thinking of applying for a new one soon before my intl trip end of April.
Should I apply for a new one before or after our interview? Which would be less of a hassle with both customs? I thought maybe they'd want only the docs on the original application. Is changing docs info a matter of filling out an online form? Or I need to schedule an interview again with the new passport? Which is in YEG over 3 months to get one? Thx |
