last i checked the GE site… which was awhile back.
if you're travelling with a child under 14 you will have to use normal lanes as the eligibility requirements for GE is 18 or over. but today i checked it again and it reads http://www.globalentry.gov/eligibility.html Applicants under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to participate in the program. If an individual does not meet the requirements of Global Entry, their application will be denied. is this new? or did i mis-read it previously? on a GE brochure found on the web, it reads between 14-18 requires consent, children under 14 aren't allowed to participate in GE http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/...y_pamphlet.pdf |
Update on Nexus/GE merge

Yup, my GOES page says I'm conditionally approved for Global Entry, and that I must now schedule an interview at one of the CBP offices...what, today's hour long endeavour was not enough? OK, so I've scheduled another interview....we'll see what happens this time. It is especially annoying since the airport is 40 minutes out of town!
So, I asked about getting a sticker, and again, am told that a sticker is no longer required for GE/Nexus members....we'll see eventually I guess! |

Would a kind person answer this, if I apply for Nexus this week I should received a conditional approved within two weeks right? I can then book an appointment on the date I want? I need to know this as I'm flying out next month and need to know how long it take. I can't find that info over at Nexus website and I'm in Ontario. Thank you kindly.

I've had Nexus for a short while. A month ago, flying out of YYZ I go to the scanner, answer the questions (nothing that should get me to secondary inspection) and got my slip. Went forward and was about to show it when one of the other agents standing there saw my slip and said I needed to go in here - basically, the secondary section. I think someone using it behind me did too. So - had to sit down, wait about 5 minutes and then they called me up, asked me a few questions, just like normal and I was on my way. Thankfully it was short, as other times it's usually a long wait and I was cutting it close for my flight.
I assume this is just random - sometimes happens. What is really ironic, this particular time, the lines for customs were basically empty! I made the flight find... just found it odd since I've only used it a few times and already had to wait in secondary. |

I was at YYZ a few weeks ago and the lineup exiting the hall went literally right across the entire baggage area. Is there a "priority" exit for NEXUS or do you have to stay in line with the masses (This is for Canadian customs)?

Secondary was quite painless for me. I wasn't sure what to do at first once I had entered the area. I did see a few people sitting down but it wasn't immediately obvious to me what I should do so I just stood there. Within a few seconds though my name was announced so I went to the desk. I was asked where I'm going, why and how much money do I have on me. |

Yup! Your card probably said V-RR on it (Visitor - Random Referral) and it means you're up for a secondary.
Thanks |

If you're relatively close to Buffalo, it might be worth it for you to drive there for the interview. Within a week, I received conditional approval and was able to schedule an interview in Buffalo within the same week. If I wanted to do the interview at YYZ, the earliest appointment was about 3 months out!

you don't have to stay in that line, same happened to me in november in YYZ, just go to the guys who review your boarding pass prior entering immigration area, and tell them you're nexus, they will let you go in right away.

You do have to stay in that line. This is the line to exit the baggage hall, right? There is no avoiding it (in YUL if you get behind a jumbo arrival, you're always stuck for a while, same I guess in YYZ). You are thinking of the line to get into US preclearance, and in that case, you are correct.

I think you're talking about different things. He's talk about exiting baggage claim on YYZ after clearing Canadian Customs (where they take your card from you), and it sounds like you are referring to the line up to get into US customs.
