Are you saying you're curious what someone with your full name, home address (which is the one on file with CBP/CBSA), and Nexus ID can do? @:-) If so, why not post them on FT and let me know how that goes ;)

I've read both of the comments regarding the number printed on the card. Both of the cards I received had my number as well.
I'm curious to hear what you think anyone would be able to do with this number? Considering the biometrics and image recognition involved in the clearance process, I don't really think this number means much unless the person stealing it can also steal your iris and face. |

I applied for my NEXUS card in December, and was conditionally approved late in Dec. I scheduled my interview on the GOES site for 1/3 at YVR. However, my flight to YVR was canceled, and the GOES site makes you call the enrollment center to cancel or reschedule an appointment. I called the enrollment site and the call goes to voicemail. I explained on the voicemail that I had to cancel the appointment and got no reply. I called again on 1/10, and also went straight to voice mail, with no reply and no change in the system.

OK, this TDC thing for land crossings is annoying. I'm not quite sure why a Nexus card means MORE work for the traveller, yet here we are. :td:
Anhow, the reality is that if I am traveling alone (which is about the only time I can actually use the nexus lane) and have something to declare, I just go through the regular lane. |

I WAS told by YYZ CBS agents to do this since with a TDC they must charge tax versus the regular line where they "may" charge tax.
I do get grief but only if I show my NEXUS to cross. I no longer do this. NEXUS to go down and Passports and regular line to come back - mostly because of the stuff we buy. Does anyone know if you go through a land crossing to the USA, can you board a flight within the USA (domestic) with your citizenship and Nexus card as ID? |

Can you get away with a Canadian citizenship ID instead? My passport expired last month.

As long as the TSA clerks don't lie to you, you can definitely use the NEXUS card for US domestic travel.

Your Nexus card is supposed to be sufficient - but wait - if your passport is expired then your Nexus card will link to the database that will indicate that the passport is expired and therefore the Nexus card is also not valid for entry. So the answers are no, no and no. Citizenship i.d.'s are not a valid item for admission - that's why you need a valid passport. If you try it anyway, please post the results. Good luck!
The other day, I went to the US and I didn't have a problem in the Nexus lane but the Agent may very well not seen that my passport expired. I called up Nexus Canada and I was told you didn't need it - travelling by car. I also asked about flying within the US and I was told I did need a passport. When I called Seatac and Bellingham Airport (a common hub for us) I was told only valid ID like drivers license is required. If I am travelling internationally then I need a passport. Also, from CBSA website which is still confusing: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/whti-ivho/doc-eng.html http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/5241/captureaqm.jpg |

I do know that you can cancel a NEXUS interview on-line if it's far enough in advance (24 hours I think). Did you try this before? I have done this and it worked fine. But it seems as though your interview was scheduled for a few weeks ago and you've missed it..is that correct? Did you try just booking another on-line?
However, the good news today is that the YVR office called me back today and reset my status in the system so that I can schedule another interview online! However, my hopes of getting into the Ottawa office while I'm here were dashed - the next available time slot is 4/11/2011. Oh well, I'll just bide my time until then. |
Got one of the post cards on Tuesday, then got a second identical one today. Same number over my name, but suggests their database needs a bit of work!

I received 2 postcards as well but they are not quite identical. The only difference is one says "Expand your NEXUS Benefits ....." and the other says "Expand your SENTRI Benefits.... " |

Some of the TSA agents don't have a clue. I was going through the line at LAX on a domestic flight and showed my drivers license and she said I needed government issued ID. I told her it was but she would have none of it...good thing I had my passport handy.
