One other thing I forgot to add: My brother did have a run-in with the FBI years ago. No jail time, although he was under house arrest for awhile. I'm wondering if that somehow factored into the equation. I doubt it - no one asked about him - but who knows. I remember some guy being blindsided when agents mentioned that his wife, unbeknown to him, had once been involved in an immigrant smuggling operation! |
Nexus Renwal in US Funds?
Hi all,
My Nexus (GE) expires in the spring and I've already been getting notices by CBP (email) about renewing it. So I went online today, updated document, and went to renew and when it comes to the payment page, it's in US funds?? Should be CDN no? |

I'm not sure if you can renew through a mail-in application.
With US $50 now being worth CDN $67, I'm tempted to renew on paper and save myself $17. |

When we had applied for NEXUS four years ago, there was no room for dual citizenship in the final process, even though I presented all documents of both nationalities. The Canadian officer I talked to a week or so ago confirmed that is still the case.
When you applied for NEXUS did you do it on the Canadian website or the US GOES website? At the interview do they ask where your primary residence is? in Canada or US? |

We are in the same boat - hubbie is Canadian born with US citizenship. We travel with both of his Canadian and US passports. Thinking of applying for NEXUS. When you applied for NEXUS did you do it on the Canadian website or the US GOES website? At the interview do they ask where your primary residence is? in Canada or US? One provides documentation for primary residence, in our case the US. |

Does anyone know if the enrollment center at YVR is pre or post-security and also if you have an appointment late in the day, can you show up earlier with no problem, providing they have room to squeeze you in?

Hey, for other people applying as a family, I'm assuming what I'll need to do is login and schedule an interview for each of the three of us on the same day in successive slots?
And people in Vancouver: Is there any difference between the urban enrolment centre and the one out at YVR? Like is there a reason I should go to one or the other, or just whatever fits in my schedule? |

I just got conditionally approved and booked for my family. I did have to go in and book them all as close as I could on the same day, but I did call them after I made my first booking (phone numbers are listed in the confirmation when you make your booking - in case of issues). He said to book them all on the same day as close as I could, in Calais Maine they book two slots for every half hour so I could book all four within the hour. He did say that they would probably have me in and out with a half hour or so for all four. As long as there were no issues. |

Availability; website and yours 2. Proximity to you |
My partner just renewed her passport, however used a different Passport Canada office and as such the issuing authority is different than on her previous passport. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but when I updated her information on the GOES website the only fields that were editable were the passport number and dates. So her information is now technically inaccurate in the GOES system.
Is this something that will require a trip to our local enrolment centre? |
