Yes Nexus Rocks. I was driving South from Winnipeg at the Pemblina Crossing. No Nexus lane there and skippy was taking three to five minutes per car with trunks opened and passenger doors looked at. I drove through, held teh card up for the scanner, he asked me why I had the card and then asked why I was coming from the West? I said Saskatchewan is in teh West North of Montana and North Dakota.....We seemed confused and waived me through, two minutes.

Sault Saint Marie, Nexus lane closed, showed the card, asked how much I had spent in the US and in I was, 45 seconds. I really do love Nexus.

Was at YYZ Terminal 1 Domestic gates, and the Nexus line was quite quiet! This was at around 8:20am.
Here's a quick snap picture I took.

My appointment is seven weeks away at Pearson. I'm not sure how to check the website. When I go on-line I don't see a page that lists available appointments, just something called "reschedule appointment" or "cancel appointment." I am fearful of clicking on the rechedule appointment option; if I do so will it do something to change or cancel my current appointment in late September?

Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

You can click on reschedule to see the available appointments; it won't release your current date until you select a new one.

I've got a NEXUS card and just applied to get one for my kids (5 and 3 yrs old). They've been conditionally approved, and now it's time to schedule the "interview". Based on my previous experience, I can only assume the interview process is modified somewhat for kids. What should I be expecting here... has anyone done this with young kids before?

Interview for children non-event, adult interview non-event too.

As mentioned no iris scan for the kids as they are still changing. When you travel as a family you all use the crew line (if all nexus holders). Best investment I have ever made!

Find the menu item above "search this thread" and type in "children".

Lots of good info available. You mention that you have NEXUS and have applied for the kids as well. What about your spouse? Unless the whole family has cards, you can't get the full benefit.

The "interview" is a non-event. Basically they look at the kids and issue the cards. Avoid the retina scan for the kids if possible. It will be less of a hassle down the line .

Thanks very much--very helpful. I was able to do this today with success. After several attempts to scan irises of the 5-year old, they finally gave up and I got stickers for both.

Wife has now reluctantly agreed to get one as well;)

Note that it is recommended that if you're traveling with kids who have not had their iris scan done, you actually go to the crew counter and NOT to the NEXUS machines.

We made the mistake of going to the machines (both parents) and then showed the two printed cards to the agent, while explaining the kids did not have the iris scans. He waved us on. Upon exiting the customs hall, the agent there noted that the declaration card had not been stamped, and sent us to secondary. (Of course, if the agent at the crew line had been doing his job. . . . )

How do you cross for BUF airport

I am frequently flying (or driving someone who is flying) out of Buffalo.

Which way do people find is fastest for crossing with Nexus? I've been using Queenston Lewiston even though there's no dedicated Nexus lane because my GPS says to, but have noticed slow crossings there this summer.

I usually scan myself at the kiosk and then proceed to the crew line with NEXUS receipts and the kids for processing.

We normally use the Peace Bridge; if you hang left going across into the US, you'll hit the Nexus lanes. Its then a quick drive on 190/90 to the airport.

The Whirlpool Bridge is Nexus only, and really fast, but you are nowhere near the airport.

Just used my Nexus pass (Peace Arch land border crossing) during this long weekend.

That $10/yr is more than a bargain! ^

Contacted by the Nexus office

Hi,
I received a voice message two days ago from the Nexus office in Vancouver asking me to call them back. I am currently traveling in India, and it is not easy for me to call them, given the time difference. I did call a few times yesterday but got their voice mail each time.

Does anyone know what this could be about? Has anyone here received similar messages from the Nexus office recently ? If this is a routine thing then I'm sure it can wait until I'm back from India. Otherwise I can keep trying to call them back. I haven't used Nexus since April of this year.

Appreciate any responses.

Whirlpool as another poster has mentioned is NEXUS only, Rainbow Bridge has Nexus, as well as the Peace Bridge, if you're headed to BUF, might as well save some TOLL $ by going via Fort Erie
