Am getting an error message (Data Source Error - RD2) when searching for CX/KA availability. Am using Awards-BA/oneworld method. Search for AA/JL/BA awards seems be working just fine. Updated to latest version (missed the 7/2 upgrade). What's going on?

The [Awards/BA-OneWorld] Engine is currently experiencing intermittent issues.

In any case, CX/KA Partner Award Availability should be searched via the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Method, as noted in the KVS Tool User Guide:

The [Awards/BA-OneWorld] Method is currently unavailable as BA's systems are still experiencing an outage.

In the meantime, please use the [Awards/OneWorld] Method.

Hi KVS,

I'm seeing some unexpected results using the tool with BA redemption availability. I was looking for a seat for our daughter from MIA-LHR (25th Jul) and then LHR-ABZ (26th Jul) in economy.

According to BA-oneworld and JL-oneworld there's availability on the BA208 but nothing on the BA206 and then nothing from LHR to ABZ. My gold card is set in the KVS settings.

I called BA anyway just to check and they've put her on the BA206 (which shows no availability for me!) and then the BA1306 to Aberdeen.

Is there an explanation as to why they can see availability that I cannot in KVS?

While this is a positive outcome it concerns me that perhaps other searches I do regularly are not accurate.

Have you actually verified the booking in MMB?

Hello. It's all from my account. The results I was getting in KVS were from my account and when I called BA they were accessing my account in order to list availability. They told me on the telephone that I had more availability because I was gold but I thought the KVS system factored that into the search too?

Was the booking made in V or some other non-redemption Booking Class?

I just checked online and all sectors (including the ones changed today) are showing a 'selling class' of V.

V Class Availability, which is used for additional availability in Economy for BAEC Gold members, should be checked using the [Availability/FS] Method.

Thanks for the explanation. That all makes sense now. I hadn't realised that the extra availability was shown in a separate availability fare bucket (V). Come to think of it, why don't the airlines maintain all their redemption availability across different fare class letters? Have they run out of letters or something?

I've been trying like crazy to find a flight EWR-DUS/FRA/MUC-CDG on LH with the new business class configuration.

All along I've been searching using KVS and get these results:

Why does UA.com show availability in C for this route, but KVS doesn't?

LH is offering better availability to UA than they are offering to ANA - this is why.

You can see the same Availability via the [Awards/M&M] Method, so either LH provides preferential Award Availability to UA or UA.com displays 'Phantom' Availability:
