It's interesting to note that other web browsers I've used have never felt the need to phone home, or stopped working when their developer's servers were down. This behaviour does at least clarify the fact that users are paying for a service (and would in most cases be able to expect help from their card issuer if that services breaks or is unilaterally withdrawn).

Is there a precedent for a user being able to unilaterally reserve a wiki in a thread? A brief search of the FT ToS doesn't seem to answer the question.

ETA: meant to add that I've reported this post, so hopefully we can get a moderator to weigh in.

This comes up many times in the manufacturing spend forum as some users want to hide/obscure information. The precedent is that no, you can't just delete a wiki content.

I have 5 months remaining on my Diamond Membership level.
I have been falsely accused of violating the User Agreement, with circumstantial evidence.
I had requested specific instances of this "violation".
I have provided specific examples of public sources of the information I shared for each instance.

No response from KVS as to why my account is not working.

KVS: Why is my account not working. You have time to delete the wiki but you don't have time to respond to my email request of why my account is not working?

Moderator2 Nov 11, 2014 10:04 am

The wiki has been reinstated to its condition of earlier this morning. For the time being, it is locked for user input.

If you wish to make changes to the wiki, please contact one of the senior moderators (jdiver, prospero, moderator2, oliver2002) for assistance. Hopefully it can be reopened for unmoderated posting again soon, but one person taking it upon themselves to redact 100% of the legacy content, is unfair to the community as a whole.

Reserved by whom?

If KVS want to run their own forum on their own site, then perhaps they should.

Where has the links to these interesting terms of reference gone? The Air Canada one specifically forbids "KVS Availability Tool Customised Screen Scraping Web Browser TM" from using the website.

Care to provide your opinion on why all of a sudden these donors would suddenly hijack this thread?

What has KVS done to address the concerns of some of these donors?

Most of the hijackers are not KVS Tool Members, as has been previously noted by others:

Thanks to all the complainers (many of whom have admitted they are not even current KVS customers) for ruining this Forum and the tool itself for the rest of us.

Some of the initial posts were prompted by the recent changes in certain parts of the KVS Tool functionality, which is certainly understandable.

However, we are unable to speculate as to all possible reasons, many of which would fall outside of the scope of the KVS Tool, this thread and our areas of expertise.

We evaluate each concern on its merits and address it to the best of our ability, both here and internally. If a KVS Tool Member feels that their concern was not yet addressed, we would encourage them to share it via http://Contact.KVSTool.com/

I, for one, resent you calling those who post here seeking simple answers to simple questions 'hijackers'. :mad:n the contrary, it is the 'company' representative posting here who seeks to hijack the thread and steer it clear of any and all discussion that might prove to be less than flattering.

Perhaps said representative would deign to enlighten us with the answer to even a single one of the outstanding questions he has been so assiduously avoiding: (note that many of these are TOTAL softball questtions that any legitimate company would have easily answered already)

  • Where does the KVS tool get its data?
  • Is KVS authorized to provide this data in the manner it is presented? <-EASILY ANSWERED
  • Are users opening themselves up to liability by use of KVS tool?
  • Is KVS a registered company in any country and/or does it have a registered address? <-EASILY ANSWERED
  • Will KVS provide refunds for those who paid but feel that -- after changes -- they have not gotten what they paid for? <-EASILY ANSWERED

Calling customers and former customers "hijackers" is rich.

By reacting to reasonable questions with defensiveness, deflection and now plain denigration KVS has repeatedly missed opportunities to repair his product's reputation. There was a time when the 'tool' was a useful app that people were happy to pay for.

We have previously answered most of these questions, one of which is irrelevant.

Can you point me to the answers to these two questions please. These are the only ones on the list I'm interested in.

Thanks

You have previously demonstrated a remarkable ability to gather questions about your product and respond to each with a clear link. Here, not only do you seem uninterested in either answering these questions or even pointing to where the answers are, you actively avoid any reasonable response. Therefore, I will answer them for you based on what I know from this thread.

  • Where does the KVS tool get its data?

The tool is know to access a variety of web sites, many in a manner that is not authorized. Please see the Wiki above for a list of sites believed to be accessed and their data access policies (where known). Additionally, the tool appears to access some sites via a KVS-operated back end. This also means that the tool is not just a 'web browser' that runs via a user's machine. No detailed public information is available about how this works or whether any back-end access is authorized.

  • Are users opening themselves up to liability by use of KVS tool?

Depennding on the the access policy of the site involved, users are quite possibly liable for unauthorized access.

  • Is KVS a registered company in any country and/or does it have a registered address? <-EASILY ANSWERED

KVS refuses to discuss this matter.

  • Will KVS provide refunds for those who paid but feel that -- after changes -- they have not gotten what they paid for? <-EASILY ANSWERED

One new user has reported a refund. Numerous other users have reported only frustration.

It is my intention that this data be added to the Wiki after it is re-enabled, hopeully with expansions and updates to the answers above. Perhaps a m:pderator of this forum can begin that process.

Please contact the moderators via the "Alert a moderator to this post" triangle, or via PM, for Wiki content. No need to add more noise to the thread ;).

Thanks

Renewed my subscription today but no availability functionality...

Dear KVS

My subscription to KVS expired last week and I renewed under an hour ago as I needed to check flight availability. There was no obvious indication of a material change in functionality on any of the links I was required to click in order to renew.

Now I discover the functionality I regularly used has suddenly disappeared, replaced with Availability/GTC, to which I have no access (I am a general counsel, not a travel agent). I only discovered the extent of the problem when looking at this forum (which I have never needed to visit before).

I would like you to answer the following questions:

- when, if ever, I can expect the required functionality (simple flight availability check) to be restored?

- if not, will you be offering a refund?

Please think carefully before answering these question negatively as I will not hesitate to protect my legitimate interests by all lawful methods.

I look forward to reading your response.

Yours sincerely
/d'Yquem
