Hello chaps,

I am using the KVS Tool as a Gold member. I usually use the Availability/FS mode to find availability by seat bucket, especially as I usually travel in Coach.

I need to make some changes to my ticketed reservations, which are on 'M' class on British Airways.

I am trying to see the availability by fare class for various future flights on the route I am travelling.

I get results using the Availability/FS mode, however the results in some occasions seem to be different to what the airline says their inventory is. For example, I may see M6 however when I call the airline, they say M0, this is all in parallel.

Is there a more accurate mode that I can use? I am willing to upgrade if needed.

Thanks you lads,
Andrew

Just started a trial of platinum and had a question. Trying to do lax-fco on 5/30 and the tool keeps showing cs+ for flight 6170 on IB for that date with connection in economy for 5/31 (flights 3236 and 3238). But this does not show on BA, Quantas, or when I call AA. Are these just phantoms with the KVS tool?
thanks, tim

Its Qantas (no 'u').

Search for each leg separately on BA or Qantas. I can see the IB flight on Qantas, but ExpertFlyer shows the availability is zero. KVS for Award/Oneworld just pulls data from Qantas.

I see the MAD-FCO flights on BA and Qantas.

IB is known to have occasional connectivity issues with its partners, so a Long-Sell may be required:

You can call BA US to take advantage of the more favourable POS US Availability that you are seeing:
http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Factors

Otherwise, additional POS options are available at the Diamond level.

New KVS Tool User

Hi All,

I'm a brand new KVS tool subscriber (Platinum). Is it possible when doing a *A award search to expand beyond 1-connection when considering a routing between 2 locations?

Thanks!

At the Diamond level, you can use the [Awards/AC-StarAlliance], Method, which can automatically build itineraries with up to 3 connections (4 segments).

Otherwise, you can search segment-by-segment.

Virgin Atlantic Award Availability

In searching for VS award availability I've noticed that when I specify a specific date KVS will either show what it available or "no award availability. However, occasionally KVS will report the days of the month that availability can be found.

Is there a way to always get what days of the month availability exists?

The Calendar listing will be shown automatically when there is no Award Availability on the chosen date in the requested Class(es) and there is Award Availability within a +/- ~15 day period.

There is no way to force its display when there is positive Award Availability on the requested date.

Yes, you can upgrade at the time of booking or anytime after that via CX.com, as long as there is Award/Upgrade Availability.

KVS Tool supports CX Award/Upgrade Availability -- please see http://Help.KVSTool.com/#CX for the required Booking Classes.

To save me hunting ....

Does early renewal add on to current membership or does renewal restart from zero from the date of renewal therefore losing the "gap"?

Thanks.

ExpatSomchai Jul 17, 2013 5:01 pm
