KVS Availability Tool
What really would be most efficient for a manual power search would be providing an input file (excel, csv, text, whatever) that would contain a list of search objects (e.g. Method, date, class, origin, destination, etc). This could then kickout a summary or file of results.
Having this done hourly and changes emailed would be the ideal automated solution, but an easy button for the manual search would be a very welcome improvement. For example right now I have multiple sessions open because I have combinations of segments and dates for a desired destination and return. The new power search appears to take care of the date variable (once all results are returned instead of first) but doesn't help with multiple segments. Multiple segments are important because there are multiple paths between cities, and kvs finds them if all segments are available. But availability and route rules (maximum permitted miles) aren't always enforced. For instance if I want to go from ORD to LIM, I search all the gateway flights to LIM on OW (MiA DFW JFK LAX etc). That is because with EXP, there is additional saver availability not visible and agents can do a request to revenue management, which often works for the puddle jumper flights if the intensional segment is available. So this requires me to make dozens of combinations of international segments and dates to be able to piece together itineraries I can be successfully booking on the phone. Ideally a command line program call with the input file as an argument, but working with the GUI is fine as well. I would find this functionality very valuable. It is there today but terribly manual and cluttering having that many instances open. |
Resolved: [Awards/OneWorld] Method Issues
[Awards/OneWorld] Method issues have been resolved and V7.2.3 is now available for download at http://www.KVSTool.com/
[PowerSearch] Beta Users should download an updated V7.2.9902 using the Beta download link (which remains the same). |
Power Search
When the search completes (and misses), the date on the search changes to the end date of the search. So to repeat the same search, the date needs to be changed again, which is not desirable.

What I'd like to see is the ability to input a particular flight number - then have it display all availability within the time period specified. |

I just tried to install this new version (V7.2.3) under CrossOver and it keeps installing V7.1.9.

Please try downloading the Setup file from the Mac 'side' and make sure you launching the correct Setup file under CrossOver.
Thanks. it's also quite a bother to re-try this over and over as each time I need to re-enter registry key and all my FF numbers/passwords. |
Trying out KVS prior to purchasing a membership?
I am more interested in flying directly from SFO to Taipei, Taiwan directly. I believe Eva airline is the only one that has a direct flight. I would like to use either my US miles or UA miles to book award seat in Business class. Since BR is a new partner plus they don't do much to show their award availability, I was thinking about using KVS to alert me when an award business seat opens up in Eva airline. I don't want to pay for a membership and then find out the BR doesn't show up at all.
My question is whether there is any way I can get a trail period to test out KVS or any other programs that will allow me to test out the system prior to becoming a paid member. Thanks for any help. |
KVS is not the only tool. For BR availability, you can use:
-Flightstats.com. Look for "I" class. -ANA Tool -Register a BR frequent flyer account and look for availability. |

Well I tried that and also un-installed KVS and deleted the Crossover bottle then did a new install - still got the old version. Not sure what to do next - I would really like the new version to fix the issue with "method not supported'.
Thanks. it's also quite a bother to re-try this over and over as each time I need to re-enter registry key and all my FF numbers/passwords. Please make sure that the Setup screen shows the correct version -- otherwise, you are running the wrong Setup file. |

There is no need to uninstall an existing version when upgrading. Your saved Registration and FFP Credentials will be recognized automatically.

OK - I guess I am a bit confused on how to get to the Setup screen and/or Setup app under Crossover - can you provide more details instructions on how to do this. thanks.
Alternatively, try using the CrossOver CrossTie installer, as shown at http://www.CodeWeavers.com/compatibi...e/?app_id=8440 |
