I have a 3790 and it's incredible. I've only ever had one issue with it.... It's a UK unit and I purchased and installed the US maps before my trip in August. On arrival in Orlando (via Cayman Islands) I was giving a ride to a girl who I'd been talking to on the flight. I turned on the unit and.... Nothing. For 15 minutes I got no signal, somehow I managed to piece together the way to her hotel (I know Orlando, but not expertly) and even to mine before the unit started working. Coupled with hurricane style rain and it was an interesting trip to say the least! Silver lining, the fact I got her there with no help made me look better and I've never had a problem with the unit since. Great piece of kit, just slightly bigger and the same weight as an iPod touch
What you experienced is normal. The unit was refinding the satellites. |
Well standalone GPS prices have come down a lot.
Market isn't willing to pay a premium for these devices. Plus over time, smart phones will have faster and faster processors compared to something like the 3790, which I hear already has sluggish zooming and panning compared to iPhone 4 running something like Navigon. |

But did you get her number?

Two apps that work great together: 1Password (Mac, iPhone, and Windows beta) and Dropbox. Store your credentials in 1Password and sync them among computers and devices.

Has anyone tried the liveATC app where you can listen to tower control? It's cheap and might be fun to have, just curious if anyone's given it a go yet...

How have you iPad owners divided up the screens? For instance, first screen News apps, second Social Networking, next Travel, etc?
