Yes I agree but they are trying to compete against Apple with the android and they may be fearful of alienating the very cellular vendors they need to compete. It would seem inevitable at some point.

Jackal,
Perhaps... But I would not rule out google and it's integration of different services. If you mean the cellular phone vendors I do not know what they are thinking with regard to long term strategy. |
One of the newer apps I've come to love is TuneIn Radio. I find that upon landing in a new city, I love being able to still listen to my Chicago based radio. It just makes me feel a bit closer to home, no matter how far away I am. :D

iOS 4.2
iOS 4.2 will be out today according to an Apple press release. Make sure you upgrade you iPhone and more importantly iPads. Multitasking for the iPad at last. ^^
|
Remember that switch on the iPad to prevent the screen orientation from changing? Well it's now been changed to a mute button with no option in the prefs to revert back to its previous function. :)

Now a software button to lock the screen.

They could have at least left a choice for those who got used to the screen lock. Why is there a need for a mute switch if you hold the volume down button for 1 sec and it automatically goes to mute anyway?

I was disappointed also but the software lock switch is so easy I have gotten over it. |
