OS 4.2 and above. But on the previous versions the button on the side still locks the screen. We are talking mainly iPad here, not iPhone.

Its the same idea on the iPhone (so really any device with iOS 4 and greater). On the iPhone, however, you cannot lock the screen in landscape mode. I usually keep my iPhone locked so that if I am reading on the couch or something, where I am at a weird angle, it doesn't keep switching orientations on me.

Also, the Fruit Ninja game is very fun and addictive. I have the iPad version ($4.99). There are some fun multiplayer options on it as well, both online and local two-player. As of yesterday it now supports Game Center too. I don't know how some people though even get close to the high scores it says they get. :o:o

So maybe we'll see Words With Friends now joining the GC platform.

Maybe it wouldn't be that easy because they were already multiplayer and I don't know if GC means it uses Apple's servers instead of the ones they already had.

So it's not simply adding in achievements, though I'd like to see achievements like using all 7 letters in a turn or getting over 100 points in a turn or scoring 500 in a game, etc.

Ilingual iPhone Translation Wonder

OK, I'm not yet convinced this is my favorite iPhone app, but once you try it you may find it to be one of the most unique or ...

It has several languages such as German, French and Arabic. You download the language you are looking for. Once downloaded, you take a picture of your face and it converts your mouth into a real speaking "mouthpiece." You then select various travel phrases and it then "speaks". Except for the mouthpiece, foreign language translation these days is not so unique, however, watch this video and then tell you are not not at least amused with the concept?

I'm not sure but the thought, "don't get mouthy to me" comes to mind.

Nothing wrong with asking Randy.

I was really bummed when the iPhone did not get this last year when the service was first announced. I would have grabbed it ASAP back then. Now I must say that I am a little weird out by the idea of it constantly tracking me. I realize I can restrict the privacy settings though I have found that even with tech like FB Check-ins I don't like necessarily leaving a trail of everywhere I go.

According to the FT Twitter feed, iPhone and Android apps are coming. ^

May I suggest a nice app for the iPad? The site already looks great on the big screen, but a dedicated app would be nice. :)
