There are several Google Voice iPhone apps, both AppStore and Cydia, both paid and free.

Any thoughts on which is best and why?

Now will companies accept these scanned receipts as proof of purchase?

CamScanFree would not install on my 3G but Genius Scan did.

Mine doesnt. Original reciept only. Bummer.

The official one is probably the best from the App Store. The problem with anything that is legit as far as Apple is concerned is that it can't intercept a regular phone call like it does on Android so that the caller ID shows up as your GV number on the other end. I am not familiar with Cydia apps though they would, I imagine go further to mimic the Android functionality.

My favorite apps are:

- The Weather Channel - found it to be the most accurate weather app.
- AppShopper - so that I can know when apps I want are reduced.
- FlightTrack
- TripTracker
- FlightCaster Pro
- GateGuru
- OnTheFly
- FlightControl
- AirMadness
- Airline Conq and Airline USA
- Bejeweled 2
- The Lonely Planet Guides - AppShopper lets me know when they are on sale!

I have the official GV app on my iPhone. When someone calls my GV number, it shows up as their phone number.

When I make a call, I get an access number randomly assigned. They vary from DC to Michigan to Sacramento and other places.

An odd one to get, but I like going to farmer's markets when I travel. I love Locavore which shows them near me. Was crashy, but its fixed for iphone 4 -- although AT&T still is kind of sucky at times. Anyway -- if you like eatting local food on the road its a great app. Wish it showed restaurants that featured local food, but great for farmer's markets.

Can't seem to find this one in the AppStore. Is it still around?

Yes it seems to be - and it is still free at the moment by the looks of it. It is made by Next Jump. I just searched the Itunes store on my ipod and it came up fine. Are you on the US Itunes store - it may just be on that one. Not sure if I am allowed to place a link - mods I will delete if required.

Thanks, seems like it's not available on the UK iTunes store for some reason, which is why I couldn't locate the app.

For those with jailbroken phone using Google Voice - try GV Extensions for iPhone. Makes the regular phone app dial out via GV.

Looks cool, and I see some of the rates are a bit better than Skype. That said, I think I prefer Skype. Why add a second VoIP app? Am I missing something?

My list includes:

My Flights (how could it not? :) - the only app to actively track Amadeus bookings)

Status Wallet (keeps track of all of my FF accounts)

The BA app (speaks for itself)

Currency (so I can always check how much I'm being ripped off)

Sky + (so I can set my Sky+HD box up to record programmes I've forgotten about while on the road)
