I have no real data on how much it slows down the computer, but I don't notice a difference. Thank you for the tip, fredsxb! Added Info: Later I installed it on another XP laptop and on a Win7 64-bit laptop, also with no issues. |
cool

I installed 12vpn this afternoon on a netbook running Win XP, selecting the recommended OpenVPN protocol. It installed without a hitch and seems to be working properly.

Just cancel and demand a refund. Having had such difficulties with HotSpotVPN, and having had some challenges with the corporate VPN on Mrs. Middle_Seat's work laptop, I was wary of trying another. I followed all the links on the 12vpn site to learn exactly how to get my money back if it didn't work...see https://12vpn.com/billing So, I was very pleasantly surprised that 12vpn worked right out of the starting gate...I didn't even have to turn off MS Security Essentials to install it! |
I've been on a travel hiatus for a while, and back when I was a frequent flyer I was using TravelTracker...on Palm OS!
I downloaded TripIt for iphone and ipad and I'm amazed how awesome even the free parts are. There are a LOT of travel apps out there. FlightTrack Pro, etc. Is there something I'm missing that TripIt doesn't do? Does this not track flight status? Why would I want to pay $10 for a different flight tracker? I'm not being facetious - I am wondering what the FT community has found the most useful. I like the idea of a cloud-based travel tracking app with nice iPad and iPhone presentations, and so far TripIt impresses. |

People can get a bit jaded and critical when there are so many apps. around. Even though many of them are free.
Guess if every app. was treasured, it would be because there are few choices. So people with Blackberry or WebOS or WP7 probably feel that way now. |

If you are using Tunnelin for mainly podcasts try Instacast . Tunnelin does not allow caching of multiple podcasts like Instacast.

Right. For a VPN connection you need a VPN client on your device and a VPN server at your employer, one you set up or a commercial VPN server. The iPad comes with a VPN client built in. If you look under settings it is directly under the WiFi setting place on the left side of the screen (at least on my iPad (I havent upgraded). I routinely use that with our work VPN server which is Cisco. You just need to select a server and they should be able to give you the information for connecting.
