BBC iPlayer - I just love BBC content.

I've used the online BBC iPlayer while in the UK, but access isn't allowed from the US. Does this App circumvent that? I'm also having trouble finding the App itself on the App Store. I would love to watch this content from the States.

I use a UK VPN to access the BBC content. As far as getting BBC iPlayer app on your iPad, you need to connect to the UK ITunes/App store in order to search and install the app.

Not for US, also some contents will not be available for the non uk player due to licensing (sports event).

LiveATC, nothing like having air traffic control on your earpiece. Friends and family know when you're on the ground, you will know the real reason your flight is delayed etc.

I used that site when I was getting my Instrument rating to practice listening to ATC and copying Clearances, Taxi Instructions, Approach Clearance. etc. Really handy since you have a multitude of ATC sites to listen to.

Cheers

Settlers!

I used to play this in my PC days. Found a port for mac but unfortunately lost it. Then found Settlers for iphone but for the ipad it's almost better than the PC days.

Now, if I could find a version of Descent for iPad I'd be in heaven. (I'm a closet gamer.)

Otherwise the usual productivity apps.
iBooks for downloading, storing and reading pdf from school.
Wordpress app for my webmaster jobs.
Bento, numbers for project management.
Indexcard syncing via dropbox with Scrivener on the mac for writing projects for work and essays for school. And pages.

Also, AVplayerHD for quickly transferring and watching video on the ipad. The ones I have no intention of keeping on the ipad. The ones i keep I convert to ipad format in to itunes.

A pilot friend (used to fly USAir, now private) told me about it. Thankfully he also advised me on the call names for the carriers. I think not too many people know about it or they would rave about it, nothing like getting it from the horses mouth. ;)

iPhone apps I use for domestic travel

Yelp (for local business listings)
Localmind (great for finding out what places are happening now)
The NorthFace (for getting outdoors on the weekends)
Wordlens (to translate Spanish signs)
The WeatherChannel
near2there (a new app that let's you save all of the places you want to go to and then reminds you when you are nearby. pretty cool.)

Can anyone recommend an alarm that works independently from the IP volume setting and from its up status. Simply an alarm that I do not have to worry about the volume settting of the IP and that I do not need to check whether it is running.

Mods: a suggestion, given we're now on page 69 of this thread. How about splitting out iPhone and iPad apps into separate threads?

It is not the browser, it is your settings:D

I realise what your problem probably is, you have your settings set differently To me for browser display!

Go to My FlyerTalk, Your Control Panel, Settings and Options, My Options, Scroll down to "Thread display options", set your option to 40 posts per page!!

You will then find that the page count drops rapidly.
