Googling that just gets me lots of drink mixing apps :D

It did end up jailbreaking the iPad and then using VolumeBoost 4.0 from Cydia. It installs as a Winterboard theme but does seem to up the max volume somewhat.

Best Video Entertainment option for the iPhone

I used to use GoGo and stream movies and TV shows via Netflix. The quality wasn't great and it did halt every once and a while, but I was willing to put up with it since I could pick what I wanted to watch, whenever I sat down. I could also resume a movie/show from home.

Now, I'm flying more AA and AA seems to have so few aircraft with WiFi, I'm migrating to something else. I've tried renting movies via iTunes, but I don't like the 5GB download necessary to watch the movie. I don't like to pre-plan what I'll want to watch on the flight the next day. I'd like something lighter so I can store more movies and more importantly, download them faster. What options are out there?

Rent a DVD at a Redbox before departure, deposit it in a Redbox in your destination city?

Ah ha! You're the reason people can't use WiFi on planes. :) You use up all the bandwidth.

Any iPad apps that actually boost volume? (not the fake ones). Am aware of the Cydia app, but was wondering if there is an app store one.

Not an app, but jambox!

If you fly AA, then the first questions should be: "What wireless?"

I just killed my netflix and gogo subscriptions since the probability of getting wireless on a flight isn't high enough to even make me want to submit the expense report for gogo. The connection isn't too great either and it can be quite choppy. I think I'll go to movie rentals on my phone, but are there better options than iTunes?

As for redbox, I don't want to watch on my laptop. If I pull it out, I somehow end up doing work and I like the break from it. Plus, I'm afraid I'd break or lose the DVD.

That's about 4x what I was hoping to pay. But thank you.

Real racing is a good one - especially when you can control the Mac version of the game through your iphone. worth a check

Check My trip App

Anyone having touble with this app?

This was the most useful travel app I had as it stored flight details, eticket numbers, etc for all amadeus bookings, but the last few weeks it keeps crashing. I have re-installed, but still no go.

Any advice?

I don't know the actual answer to your question but have you used the My Flights application before? It was architected by an FT'er and is excellent.

Compiles all Amadeus bookings with the same details as CMT (not seating plans), but seat details. You can also e-mail your saved trips as/when required etc...

Well worth downloading if you've not used it before and I believe there's an iPad version too.

I love Tripit and kayak apps. For killing time, Spider solitaire on my iPad.
