Yeah I might actually be able to use KVS without having a Windows PC if they made an app.

The KVS Tool Mobile Companion is available as a Web App for iPhone/iPad -- please see http://www.KVSTool.com/Mobile-Companion-Info.php for details.

iPad WiFi Print App?

What is a good iPad print app? I have a WiFi Brother network printer at home and sometimes want to print documents, webpages (ie boarding passes) from my iPad to that printer. Any suggestions?

Printcentral should work

First off, my apologies as I'm drawing a blank here.

I'm not sure if this is on the right thread so Moderator, please move to where appropriate.

I'm looking for the app (I didn't know the correct terms as far as what I should use for Search) that allows people to interact socially while on flights. I.E. you can see who else is on flights that you are on when you make your seat location public and vice versa.

I swear I've seen this somewhere before but again, I'm drawing a blank.

Can anyone help?

Ski Tracks

Just found this one for use this season. Tracks all my runs, speed, vertical, location and other stats. Never knew how fast or far I was skiing until I got this free app.

Amazing little program and pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

Cheers

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this (I didn't see anything), but Starbucks has just started including paid apps in their "pick of the week" cards at the register. From what little I've seen, if you're generally casting around for apps to pass the time, this might be a good source.

a while

With Starbucks this had been going on since the fall. Some great apps like starwlak and scrabble for free.

There are websites that do some of what you are talking about. As far as apps that do interactive while in flight?... I can only imagine a few issues:
NFC isn't that popular or utilized YET
Communication method? Blue tooth(if you like security issues), Web based(which requires connectivity(WIFI)), ad-hoc wifi on everyone's cell phone. I know some games will find 'local' players but those are more PSP or Nintendo

Four Square allows 'Check-ins' at various places
Badoo but seems more geared to the 'date' crowd...

Swipe for mail

Works nicely on iPhone but not on iPad. Need a JB iPhone.

Sad but true. A year or so ago, it took apple a couple of weeks to update iOS to fix a safari/pdf exploit whereas Saurik's team had a patch up/running in less than 48 hrs.

Apple has SQA people and a release process.

Do JB guys do that?

Maybe the value of SQA is overrated but that explains the longer release process.

Yeah. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I guess I was looking for something like KLM's Meet & Greet or something like Ticketmaster has where you can see who is on your flight and then if they want to interact socially, you can grab a nearby seat to hang out with them during the flight.

I've never encountered problems with JB or Cydia apps - they self-police themselves.

I agree Apple has a process but they don't always 'fess up' to a problem until people start to scream and kick - two recent examples:

1. the death grip of iPhone 4
2. battery problem with iPhone 4s

Btw, I'm an apple fan-boy :p
