If you want to listen to ATC, try ATC live. Many different towers, approach and departure control facilities. Useful for Instrument rating students to familiarize themselves with ATC Communication.

Cheers

+1 on Voxer. Reminds me of the old Nextel DirectConnect days!

Thanks for the tip. I just checked it out and it really is quite neat!

iSwifter allows me to watch Amazon Prime free stuff without Flash Player being installed. The quality varies.

I like Doctor Compas. It is a Flamenco metronome that improvises. You get palmas and cajon percussion to accompany your guitar play. Just plug the iPhone into your amp or portable speaker. Here is a good example of its use in playing a bulerias.

The big advantage of the SpeakEasy apps (French, Italian, Ukrainian and Russian) is that they work without an internet connection.

More powerful translation apps exist, but they all seem to need internet access.

Someone, please do post!

They seem to have lots of reviews and the app comes highly-rated, has anyone here on FT tried this app?

^ I've used Sleep Cycle and it does work really well, it requires some calibration as different mattresses will transmit vibrations to the phone differently, but it does work just as advertised.

Agreed. I like it a lot. It does require you to plug in your phone though. It will kill the battery if you run it unplugged.

Questionable performance when used in a bed sleeping more than one person at a time?
