I've been playing several Bingo games on my ipad. The interface makes it seems like you are playing against other people... but I always wonder if it's just a computer program. There's a chat box and some games have active chat... but that could be fake as well.

What do you all think?

for mindless fun when you are stuck at the Airport there are a few free apps for Pinball machines , works great on an ipad but might be too small for a iphone,

Are there any free race car driving games that are worth trying on my iPad ?

I like Real Racing 3. It's from EA, so very professionally made. The game itself is free and quite sufficient, but of course offers endless possibilities for spending money on in-app upgrades...

Also like Sonic Racing, great fun and brings out the inner child in you.

I wrote an app called NetStash it just became available in iTunes AppStore.
It lets you download web pages for reading later when you're in airplane-mode.
All of the site contents including linked articles and images. Nice alternative to buying magazines that, at least I, usually forget in the seat..
I hope someone will find it useful!

Good luck with it but you know that Mobile Safari has the Reading List feature, which seems to cache pages for offline reading.

Thanks :)
The reading list however only saves the one page, if you want the page and all pages it links to you'd have to go trough them all manually. My app grabs between 30-100mb of data from a site (server does this) and sends to your phone. It's a one click procedure :)

Thanks for posting- just to understand- how does this differ from Pocket?

I already use Pocket (Read It Later) and Newsrack (RSS) but I like this, it reminds me of AvantGo.

For the difference between Pocket/RIL and similar, this gets linked pages - so its a different use case to the single page pocket would get, or the info from the RSS feed only.

Do you have a way to sync settings between an iPhone and iPad? and a way to easily add sites from the browser (maybe using bookmarklets like RIL and Instapaper)

That's a good idea about adding sites from the browser. I'll think about that for the next version! Thanks :)

Needing older version of United App

I inadvertantly updated my United app on my iPhone 3. Now it doesn't work, as the "upgrade" needs version 4.3 or above. The current (iOS 4.3 version is listed as 1.0.28, and I need the other one(?).
Anyone happen to have an older version laying about? It would be in:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
Yep, I'd love to have a 4S or a 5, but with child in college, here I am!

Have you checked the recycling bin? I know on Mac OS iTunes moves the outdated app file (.ipa) to the Trash when it upgrades it.

Just sending someone a file though doesn't work as you will need their iTunes password I believe to actually install it on your phone (ie everyone's file is uniquely signed to basically the same situation happening on a paid app that the other party hasn't purchased).

EDIT: Also, welcome to FT!

Thanks for the swift reply. I did the update via the Iphone itself. Not sure if I can even see the trash without the jail-breaking. UGH for me. Should have read the instructions.

They are referring to the trash on the Mac/Windows box that you are using to synch the phone.

I am a big fan of FIT BRAINS. It is fun, engaging and is supposed to really help with brain and memory functionality.
