Maybe you have a rare situation. I've flown about 60 segments, and have had maybe about 5 or so equipment changes. Most are innocuous and don't really affect me, but they've happened.

Yes, it is. I tend to book my flights far in the future -- perhaps more than most folks on here. Seems like my flights to FL and the Caribbean often get changed when DL loads their flights for the winter season into their computers. I'm also getting upgraded less these days on DL and consequently need to do what it takes to get my preferred seats in Y. Just last week I was thrown toward the back of the bus after an a/c change but luckily I was able to snag a better seat.

Thanks to the input from blaisd, I downloaded Pageonce and it seems very slick. If it is consistent in notifying me of seat changes I'll spend a lot less time manually checking my itineraries on DL's website from now on.

My iPhone contract with ATT expires in early January. My thinking is to cancel it at that time and get a 4S from Verizon, but keep the ATT phone in order to use its WiFiTrak app when traveling internationally.

I might even jailbreak the old ATT phone at that time ;)

I have the 4s and really like it. Siri is great for dictation. I have heard that the 4s has less battery life than previous Iphone 4 though. I came from BB so no frame of reference.

The ones that I have listed is one of my top 5 favorite apps
1.Shazam - I don't think people realize just how amazing this is.
2.Bloomberg - It is an app which has accelerometer. When you rotate, it goes to a full screen chart
3. WorldCard Mobile - It's a business card reader and scanner app for translating information from business card to user's contact.
4. Angry Birds- Best Game App.
5. Worldictionary- For Instant translation and search for words

I've had the iphone 4s since the first day and it did take a bit of tweaking to get the battery running as well as iphone 4 or 3gs I used. I turned off some things like the location settings for cell tower lookups, and time zone setting and turned off apples PING service and the SIRI lift to face setting since I never used it and thought it was using the proximity sensor incorrectly.

Now, I get about 1.75-2 days standby and 5.5-7.5 hours usage

Does anyone have a favorite app for notifying you if there has been a change in aircraft or your seating for one of your itineraries?

Not sure if it helps but I use TRIPIT pro. Its a paid subscription but provides email and sms updates of any changes. I travel alot (120+ sectors pa) so have found that Tripit helps a lot with last minutes status changes.
I've actually found that on a couple of flights that have been cancelled on me, I got the Tripit notification prior to the general public announcement being made.

Shazam is an app that identifies music and lets you buy it, along with some other functions.

Soundhound is also a very good app for the same purpose.

Atomic Web Browser. Well worth 0.99 cents. Faster then Safari, supports ......., larger fonts and many more features.

quick_dry Nov 24, 2011 6:23 pm

Extra vote for Atomic, it makes changing the browser identifier easy so you can get the full version of sites instead of ones that do a cut down mobile version, it is also universal so one purchase works on iPad and iPhone.
